മനുഷ്യാവകാശ ദിനം

​1948-ൽ ഐക്യരാഷ്ട്രസഭയുടെ പൊതുസഭ 'സാർവത്രിക മനുഷ്യാവകാശ പ്രഖ്യാപനം (UDHR) അംഗീകരിച്ചതിൻ്റെ ഓർമ്മയ്ക്കായി എല്ലാ വർഷവും ഡിസംബർ 10-ന് മനുഷ്യാവകാശ ദിനം ആചരിക്കുന്നു. ജാതി, മതം, ലിംഗം, പദവി എന്നിവയൊന്നും കണക്കിലെടുക്കാതെ, ജീവിക്കാനും, സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യത്തിനും, സുരക്ഷിതത്വത്തിനുമുള്ള അവകാശം പോലെ, അലംഘനീയമായ അവകാശങ്ങളോടെയാണ് ഓരോ മനുഷ്യനും ജനിക്കുന്നത് എന്ന് ആദ്യമായി പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ച നാഴികക്കല്ലായ രേഖയാണിത്. സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യവും അന്തസ്സും എല്ലാ ജനങ്ങളുടെയും ജന്മാവകാശമാണെന്ന ആഗോള ഓർമ്മപ്പെടുത്തലായി ഈ ദിനം വർത്തിക്കുന്നു. കൈവരിച്ച പുരോഗതിയെക്കുറിച്ച് വിലയിരുത്താനും, അനീതി നിലനിൽക്കുന്നിടത്തെല്ലാം അതിനെതിരെ നിലകൊള്ളാനും ഈ ദിനം രാഷ്ട്രങ്ങളെയും വ്യക്തികളെയും ആഹ്വാനം ചെയ്യുന്നു.
