The School of Performing and Visual Arts (SOPVA) in association with General Administration and Construction and Maintenance Division (CMD) at ๐ˆ๐ง๐๐ข๐ซ๐š ๐†๐š๐ง๐๐ก๐ข ๐๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐š๐ฅ ๐Ž๐ฉ๐ž๐ง ๐”๐ง๐ข๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ (๐ˆ๐†๐๐Ž๐”) organised a ๐’๐œ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ฉ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ž ๐€๐ซ๐ญ ๐–๐จ๐ซ๐ค๐ฌ๐ก๐จ๐ฉ ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ฐ๐š๐ฌ๐ญ๐ž ๐ฆ๐š๐ญ๐ž๐ซ๐ข๐š๐ฅ๐ฌ from 16 to 23 September 2026 as part of โ€˜๐’๐ฐ๐š๐œ๐ก๐ก๐ญ๐š ๐๐š๐ค๐ก๐ฐ๐š๐ซ๐š ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ”โ€™. The initiative brought together cleanliness, creativity and environmental consciousness by transforming discarded materials from the IGNOU campus into distinctive works of art.

The workshop reflected IGNOUโ€™s innovative approach to the ๐’๐ฐ๐š๐œ๐ก๐ก๐ญ๐š ๐‚๐š๐ฆ๐ฉ๐š๐ข๐ ๐ง and ๐’๐ฐ๐š๐œ๐ก๐ก ๐๐ก๐š๐ซ๐š๐ญ ๐Œ๐ข๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ข๐จ๐ง, demonstrating how materials considered waste can be creatively repurposed into aesthetically engaging and meaningful artworks. The initiative not only ๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐ฆ๐จ๐ญ๐ž๐ ๐š ๐œ๐ฅ๐ž๐š๐ง๐ž๐ซ ๐œ๐š๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ฎ๐ฌ but also encouraged a broader ๐ฎ๐ง๐๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ๐ญ๐š๐ง๐๐ข๐ง๐  ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ๐š๐ข๐ง๐š๐›๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ by giving discarded objects a new artistic and functional identity. Artists from Varanasi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Delhi participated in the workshop under the guidance of Prof. Lakshaman Prasad, Director, SOPVA. The ๐š๐ซ๐ญ๐ฐ๐จ๐ซ๐ค๐ฌ ๐œ๐ซ๐ž๐š๐ญ๐ž๐ during the workshop have been ๐ข๐ง๐ฌ๐ญ๐š๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ž๐ ๐š๐ญ ๐๐ข๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐ž๐ซ๐ž๐ง๐ญ ๐ฅ๐จ๐œ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ ๐จ๐ง ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐ˆ๐†๐๐Ž๐” ๐œ๐š๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ฎ๐ฌ, adding a creative dimension to the universityโ€™s public spaces.

On the concluding day, ๐ˆ๐†๐๐Ž๐” ๐•๐ข๐œ๐ž ๐‚๐ก๐š๐ง๐œ๐ž๐ฅ๐ฅ๐จ๐ซ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐Ÿ. ๐”๐ฆ๐š ๐Š๐š๐ง๐ฃ๐ข๐ฅ๐š๐ฅ along with esteemed guests Prof. Sushma Yadav, Prof. Ashok Sharma and Prof. Rattan Lal felicitated and acknowledged the contributions of the participating installation artists. Appreciating the initiative, Honโ€™ble Vice Chancellor recognized the workshop as a creative expression of the spirit of โ€˜๐’๐ฐ๐š๐œ๐ก๐ก ๐๐ก๐š๐ซ๐š๐ญ ๐Œ๐ข๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ข๐จ๐งโ€™ and the importance of developing sustainable practices through art and innovation.
