Life will make its way
My mother would like to call herself an optimist and I am a so-called confirmed pessimist. Now why does the mother think of herself as an optimist, is because she looks for the best in everything, I, on the other had tend to find out what’s bad or rather evil and try to either address or ignore the situation. I would like to call myself a realist and I am that way not because I like it but because time and experience has taught me to be cautious. Is my mother right in looking for the good? Am I wrong in discovering (and sometimes going to the extent of predicting) the worst?
Well in my humble opinion the answer to both the questions is “No”. In the world of reality, neither being an optimist nor a pessimist makes real difference to the occurrence of events. If you give other people or situations enough time, they generally fulfill their destinies. Destiny is not the same as heavenly luck or Divine grace. Destiny is the outcome of thought process and actions in case of human beings. Mostly, people meet the outcomes of their actions over a long period of time.
There are enough examples in Nature, where its been proven repeatedly that our thinking makes no real difference. Whether you think negatively or positively the park in front of your house will bloom in spring. The animals all around will grow in number when the mating season arrives. Your neighbor’s kids will ultimately grow up and find jobs and partners to settle down with. We have no control over anything of great importance in this world.
So, why are we beating ourselves up on everyday basis with our own thinking and rethinking? Why do we spend so much time discussing the cause and effect of negative and positive thinking? In the short run i.e. on everyday basis all we need is to be at peace with ourselves and the only way I have known to be at peace with myself is to follow my own nature and convictions without being swayed by the opinions of others.

140414: "Prana is not the physical breath, it is the psychic breath. It iexists in the nervous system. Like oxygen is carried by the blood stream, your prana is being carried through the nervous system. In Sanskrit we call that system 'nadis', in the Chinese language we call it 'meridians'. Chinese doctors use various needles to release or cut of this prana. Yogis use asanas and pranayama to increase or cut off the flow of prana to various regions." - Swami Vishnudevananda
