Shilpika Gautam is an India born, global living, world record breaking adventurer for Purpose. Having swapped her corporate life of Banking and consulting for the pursuit of 'adventurous activism', she is a passionate advocate for 'doing good better' , using ‘business’ to solve environmental challenges and the empowerment of women.

In January 2017 Shilpika became the first ever person to stand up paddle the river Ganges in India, source to sea. This 3000 kms expedition which lasted 101 day was undertaken to empower awareness and advocacy for cleaner water, via adventure. In particular, to highlight the perils of single use plastic. Clocking up over 2600 kms in paddled distance, this expedition also marks a new world record for Shilpika - the longest distance stand up paddle boarded by a woman in 1 continuous journey vs the existing record of 2231 kms.

An undeniable desire to reconnect with the motherland, a natural proclivity towards adventure, a search for deeper & altruistic purpose and hopes of making the smallest of positive, sustainable changes for our environment led to the birth of Ganges SUP.

Join us today as Shilpika as she recounts her journey of traversing a river source to sea, in order to tell human and authentic stories around access to clean water.
