2月11日　「建国記念の日」は日本ができた日じゃない？　「建国記念の日」が制定された経緯を知ると、その意味がよくわかります。
自分たちの暮らす国ができた記念の日。本当の意味を知ってお祝いしましょう。　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　「建国記念の日」は、「建国をしのび、国を愛する心を養う日」として、1966（昭和41）年に定められました。

この2月11日という日付は、初代天皇とされる神武天皇の即位日である【旧暦】紀元前660年1月1日にあたり、明治に入って【新暦】に換算した日付というわけなのです。　　　　　　　そもそも明治時代には、「紀元節」と呼ばれる建国を祝う祝日がありました。

しかし、第二次世界大戦後の1948（昭和23）年、「紀元節を認めることで、天皇を中心として日本人の団結力が高まるのではないか」というＧＨＱの懸念により「紀元節」は廃止されることになります。

その後、国民の間で「紀元節」復活の動きが高まったものの、９回の議案提出＆廃案を経て、1966（昭和41）年にようやく、「建国記念の日」は国民の祝日に追加されることに……。　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　最終的に、史実に基づく建国された日とは関係なく、たんに建国されたという事実をお祝いするという考えのもと、「記念日」ではなく「記念の日」となりました。
