books and related activities for children Telling Tales is a jumble box, just dip in and find something that excites you! And oh girl had that world changed.
Odd pieces of information, scraps of imagination, reviews of books, attempts at art and craft, everything that makes up our wonderful world. It’s a space for kids, a space to read and explore further, to open up the possibilities of imagination. I live in Delhi, the city I was born in. With a dazzling speed of change, the city, its people and its landscape are no longer the ones from my childhood,
even less those that survive from the memories of my grandmother. I began exploring the city, in a mad attempt to capture what survives of its past, to hold on to the precious remnants of a 1000 year long history. Meet Delhi, my home and any others that I encounter along the way! After a gap of many long years, I started drawing again for my son. When my son was born, it was an opportunity to plunge once again into the world of children’s books. With wonderful new writings from Indian authors, I was hooked! So you will find reviews of books, most of which can also be shared by interested readers through the book club. With a small group of children, I explore the intricacies of the English language. We read books, tell tall tales, discuss and debate pressing issues, explore famous personalities or just sit down to discuss what’s happening in our lives. We pen our thoughts, write reviews and concoct poems while at the same time honing our language skills. I want children to write, to express themselves, to let them convey their views, ideas, dreams, expectations. Any child who wants to contribute to the blog will find a willing space to air their thoughts. Just mail me your contribution at [email protected] and I will get back to you.
