Alhamdulillah my son Talha Ibrahim got selected for SOSE (school of specialized excellence ) in STEM(Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) .. An initiave by Delhi govt for bright students..
In this 50% students from private schools and 50% students from government schools are taken.
There is just one school of STEM in North East and North District which is in Civil Lines.

In government schools of Delhi, students who are getting admission through NIOS have provision of choosing languages.. The available options are English, Hindi and Sanskrit. Students need to choose any two languages among these. There is circular released by Director of Education that one can choose languages only from these three.
Though NIOS provides option to choose any language apart from these three like Urdu, punjabi etc. (more than 17 languages available to choose from in secondary level)
Hence students who want to study Urdu or Punjabi further are facing difficulties..
