National Institute of Technology Delhi successfully organized the ๐— ๐—”๐—ง๐—Ÿ๐—”๐—• ๐—ฅ๐—ฒ-๐—–๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜๐—ถ๐—ฎ๐—น๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐—–๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—บ๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜† on 19 August 2026, recognizing the instituteโ€™s continued adoption and extensive use of across teaching, research, student projects, and innovation.
The programme was organized under the leadership of our Honโ€™ble Director, Prof. (Dr.) Ajay K Sharma, whose continued encouragement towards strengthening research, innovation, and technology-driven learning has significantly contributed to the instituteโ€™s academic ecosystem.
The event was convened by Dr. Anurag Singh, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, National Institute of Technology Delhi, and witnessed the participation of representatives from MathWorks and DesignTech Systems, along with faculty members, research scholars, and students from various departments of the institute.
๐Ÿ“ˆ With approximately 975 MATLAB activations at National Institute of Technology Delhi, the institute has witnessed significant usage of MATLAB across CSE, ECE, EE, and other departments, reflecting its growing role in academic teaching, research, simulation, student projects, and interdisciplinary applications.
๐ŸŽฏ The programme highlighted the scope and capabilities of MATLAB in emerging areas such as Artificial Intelligence ๐Ÿค–, Generative AI, Agentic AI, Data Analytics ๐Ÿ“Š, Simulation, Digital Twins, and Model-Based Design, providing participants with insights into how these technologies can support advanced academic and research activities.
The interaction with the MathWorks team also provided an opportunity to explore MATLABโ€™s latest capabilities, teaching and learning resources, research applications, and possibilities for strengthening industry-academia collaboration ๐Ÿค and interdisciplinary research at National Institute of Technology Delhi.
The ceremony also included experience-sharing sessions by faculty members and researchers, an overview of the MATLAB Campus-Wide Program, the significance of re-credentialing, and the presentation of recognitions and certificates.

National Institute of Technology Delhi warmly welcomed its newly admitted UG, PG, and Ph.D. students through a comprehensive Orientation Programme helding from 19โ€“21 August 2026, organized by the Academic Section under the visionary leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Ajay K Sharma, Director, National Institute of Technology Delhi.
๐ŸŒŸ The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp in the esteemed presence of Prof. (Dr.) Hitesh Sharma, Registrar; Prof. Geeta Nagpal Sikka, Dean (Academics); Dr Jyoteesh Malhotra, Dean (R&C); Dr. Ujjwal Kalla, Dean (Startup & IPR); Prof. (Dr.) Chandra Sekhar, Dean (P&D); Dr. Harish Kumar, Dean (F&W); Dr. Manisha Bharti, Associate Dean (S&W); Heads of Departments, faculty members, and officials of the Institute.
๐ŸŽค Addressing the students, Director Prof. (Dr.) Ajay K Sharma extended a heartfelt welcome and shared the inspiring journey of National Institute of Technology Delhi, highlighting the remarkable growth, achievements, and developmental milestones accomplished during his tenure.
๐Ÿ“š Dean (A), Prof. Geeta Nagpal Sikka provided valuable insights into the academic framework, programmes, departments, curriculum, and faculty members, while Registrar Prof. (Dr.) Hitesh Sharma familiarized students with the administrative structure and support systems available on campus. Students also gained information about sports infrastructure and achievements from Lt. Dr. Anidev Singh, followed by an informative session on library resources and digital facilities by Dr. Gareema Sharma, Deputy Librarian.

The celebrations commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by the Honโ€™ble Director, Prof. (Dr.) Ajay K Sharma, in the esteemed presence of Registrar, Prof. (Dr.) Hitesh Sharma; Prof. Manju Bala; and Dean (S&W) Dr VS Pandey; Dean (A) Prof. (Dr.) Geeta Sikka,, at the institute grounds.

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering of National Institute of Technology Delhi, and Department of Electrical Engineering of IIT Delhi has commenced the prestigious ๐ˆ๐ง๐๐ข๐šโ€“๐”๐’โ€“๐”๐Š ๐’๐๐€๐‘๐‚ ๐–๐จ๐ซ๐ค๐ฌ๐ก๐จ๐ฉ on "๐๐ž๐ฑ๐ญ-๐†๐ž๐ง๐ž๐ซ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐–๐ข๐ซ๐ž๐ฅ๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ ๐‚๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ง๐ข๐œ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐’๐ฒ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ž๐ฆ๐ฌ" from July 27 to August 01, 2026 at National Institute of Technology Delhi. This workshop is organizing in the collaboration of (Scheme for Promotion of Academic and Research Collaboration), Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), San Diego State University, Heriot-Watt University.
The workshop was inaugurated under the visionary guidance of our esteemed Director, Prof. (Dr.) Ajay K Sharma, and inaugural ceremony graced by Registrar, Prof. (Dr.) Hitesh Sharma in the esteemed presence chief guests, Prof. Dr Tharmalingam Ratnarajah (San Diego State University), Prof. Mathini Sellathurai (Heriot-Watt University), Dr Rikmantra Basu (ECE, Department Head), and Coordinator Dr. Navneet Garg. All dignatries lighting the ceremonial lamp and following this, Registrar, Prof. (Dr.) Hitesh Sharma, Dr Rikmantra Basu gave tokens of appreciation to the esteemed guests.
Following the inaugural session, Prof. Mathini Sellathurai delivered an insightful technical lecture tracing the evolution of wireless communication systems, from their foundational stages to the latest advancements in next-generation wireless networks. Her session offered participants a comprehensive understanding of future communication paradigms, intelligent connectivity solutions, and the technological challenges and opportunities that lie ahead in the development of communication systems.
The first day of the workshop concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Navneet Garg, expressing gratitude to the distinguished speakers, participants, collaborators, and organizing team for their contributions toward making the workshop a successful platform for global knowledge exchange and research collaboration.

๐ŸŽ“ The Department of Electrical Engineering, National Institute of Technology Delhi successfully conducted a Five-Day Short-Term Course ( ) on the topic "๐‘๐ž๐œ๐ž๐ง๐ญ ๐“๐ซ๐ž๐ง๐๐ฌ ๐ข๐ง ๐๐จ๐ฐ๐ž๐ซ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐„๐ง๐ž๐ซ๐ ๐ฒ ๐’๐ฒ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ž๐ฆ๐ฌ (๐‘๐“๐๐„๐’-๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ”)" from 13โ€“17 July 2026 under the visionary leadership of Director, Prof. (Dr.) Ajay K Sharma.
On the conclusion ceremony Prof. (Dr.) Ajay K Sharma concluded STC in the esteemed presence of Coordinators Dr. Amit Singh, Dr. Sachin Singh Dr. Govind Devasuth, and Conveners Prof. (Dr.) Chandra Sekhar ( , P&D); Dr. Tirupathiraju Kanumuri (HoD, EE), and Dr. Pankaj Mukhija, and Dr. Anmol Saxena.
