University of Delhi - Department of Germanic and Romance Studies

The Department came into existence in 1988 when the original department was divided into two separate departments.

The Department of Germanic and Romance Studies has its origins in the Department of Modern European Languages which was established at the University of Delhi in 1948. It focused henceforth on courses in the German Portuguese, Italien, French, Spanish and Romanian.
