Actinometer - An instrument for measuring the intensity of radiation.

Aerometer - An instrument used to measure the specific gravity (or relative density) of liquids.

Alkalimeter - An instrument used to measure the basicity of a solution.

Altimeter - An instrument used for determining altitude attained.

Ammeter - An instrument for measuring electric current in amperes.

Anemometer - An instrument for measuring the speed of the wind.

Barometer - An instrument measuring atmospheric pressure.

Sphygmomanometer - An instrument for measuring blood pressure.

Dolorimeter

The word comes from the combination of 2 roots

The first is dolor/dolere (Latin) which means pain, anguish; feel or suffer pain; hurt; to hurt.
The second is metron (Greek) which means measure of something; to measure something.

Therefore,
1. A dolorimeter is an instrument used to measure pain tolerance.
2. Dolorimetry means the measurement of pain sensitivity or pain intensity.

Using the above two “roots” more words can be formed, such as

condole, condolence, condolatory, doleful, dolorific, dolor coxae, dolor vagus, etc

The second is andr- which means male; masculine.

Therefore, the word philanderer means

CUMBERSOME - pronounced as cum-ber-some

Large or heavy and therefore difficult to carry or use; unwieldy.

Synonyms: cumbrous, unwieldy, heavy, awkward, ponderous.

When we get a huge number of notifications on facebook due to a tag by someone else or a comment on someone's picture, it becomes CUMBERSOME to handle these notifications.
