. **Your character is lying. Are you? 🎭**
In acting, the words are often just the surface.
A character may say **“I’m happy for you”** while feeling jealous.
Say **“It’s okay, you can go”** while desperately wanting someone to stay.
That hidden meaning is called **SUBTEXT**.
The real skill of an actor is not simply delivering the dialogue- it is understanding **what the character actually wants, hides, fears or intends beneath those words.**
Try this:
Take one simple dialogue and perform it with 5 different intentions.
Same words.
Different truth.
Different scene.
**That's when acting stops looking like acting.**
