We are delighted to share highlights from the 3-day Photography Workshop held from March 10-12 for our design students at HCD.

Initiated by Dr Anoop Ratn and the esteemed award-winning photographer Mr Bijendra Kumar, the workshop provided an in-depth exploration of visual communication through photography:

Day 1: Fundamentals of photography, composition techniques, and genres of photography
Day 2: DSLR camera technology and practical outdoor photography
Day 3: Studio lighting concepts and advanced applications

This enriching program equipped participants with essential skills, fostering creativity and technical proficiency. We look forward to showcasing their emerging portfolios.

✨ Typography in Motion | Workshop Highlights

Excited to share glimpses from our 4-day Typography Workshop (9th–12th Feb 2026)!

🎓 Initiated by Dr. Anoop Ratn
🖋️ Guided by seasoned UI/UX designer, design educator & typography artist Mr. Ashish Kumar

Students journeyed through the fascinating world of type — from manual sketching ✏️ → digital type design 💻, exploring the nuances of letterforms, kerning, spacing, and visual rhythm. The workshop beautifully combined craft, precision, and creative expression.

👏 Grateful to our facilitator for the invaluable insights and to our students for their enthusiasm, curiosity, and creativity.

Our second semester Design students just concluded an inspiring 3-day Printmaking Workshop from 3rd February to 5th February 2026 - led by eminent printmaker Rajesh Singh, under the guidance of Dr Anoop Ratn.

From ideation → experimentation → final prints, students immersed themselves in bold techniques, visual storytelling, and the tactile beauty of ink on paper. The studio was alive with creativity, curiosity, and hands-on exploration!

👏 A huge appreciation to the facilitators for their invaluable insights and to our students for their enthusiasm and artistic expression.

Join us for an insightful talk by Dr. Sandip Chakraborty, Associate Professor, IIT Kharagpur, as he shares perspectives from a decade of research exploring how Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) can shape the future of driving behavior, road safety, and autonomous mobility in India.

✨ Day 1 of the 4th National Painting Workshop at IIIT-Delhi 🎨 began with lamp lighting, a keynote by Prof. Harsha Vardhan Sharma (NDMC), & introductions of esteemed artists. A vibrant start to days of creativity & collaboration! 🌟

🎓✨ The HCD Dept. hosted PhD-HCD Interaction 2025 on 8th Aug—bringing together new PhD scholars, senior researchers & faculty. A vibrant session to share academic culture, research, and foster collaboration & innovation. 🤝💡

🌿 Congratulations Team ChloroFeel! 🌿
We’re thrilled to share that Team ChloroFeel has proudly secured a finalist spot in the DJXLabs DXJHack hackathon under the theme "XR for the Everyday Indian" – focusing on diverse and inclusive Indian personas.
The hackathon brought together teams working with personas like shopkeepers, farmers, gardeners, technicians, security guards, artisans, and home-makers.

Team ChloroFeel was assigned the Farmers/Gardeners persona. Their innovative project created an experience where plants can literally "feel and be heard" through XR-AI and Cyber-physical system (CBS) technology.

This fresh way of connecting with plants turns gardening into a more engaging and enjoyable activity, while also supporting sustainability and helping plants stay healthier and live longer.
