We’re beyond thrilled to share that 20 incredible individuals and teams with Leeds Beckett connections competed fiercely in the 2024 Paris Olympics across 13 events. 5 of those athletes made it to the podium, bringing home 2 golds and 3 bronze medals.

Vice Chancellor Peter Slee said: “We are extremely proud of the performance of every athlete connected to Leeds Beckett, and the important role our extremely talented staff, students and world-class facilities play in preparing this and future generations to compete on the global stage.

Leeds Beckett University (LBU) has been honoured with the prestigious LTA University of the Year award, a testament to the extraordinary dedication and effort by everyone in the Beckett Sports department.

This recognition highlights LBU's comprehensive tennis offerings, from junior programmes to community coaching and charity partnerships.

Leeds Beckett University truly offers a one-stop shop for all things tennis, setting a benchmark in the field and continuing to inspire future generations of players and coaches.

The National Student Survey ranks Leeds Beckett University at the 27th position for traditional Higher Education institutions in the UK.

Teaching at the university comes in for particular praise, with staff scoring 91% for their explanations of work and 86% for support with learning. Leeds Beckett’s facilities are also rated strongly by students, with library resources (90%), IT facilities (88%) and specialist facilities (87%) receiving high scores.
