Greetings freshers! College life is known for the plethora of dimensions it has to offer to our learning curve, involvement in the field of research being one of them. To help you find path in this cumbersome journey through the world of research papers, ResearchNSIT was set up with an initiative to promote and facilitate research among the students of NSIT.

Continuing with the series of research experiences, we interviewed Varshika Gambhir, a fourth year student of NSIT from the Computer Engineering Department who conducted research on ‘Routing protocol design for Opportunistic Networks’ and got her paper published in the Journal of Ambient Intelligence and Humanized Computing, Springer. Presently working as Assistant Professor in the Division of Information Technology, Dr. Deepak Kumar Sharma received his B.Tech. degree in Computer Science from G. G. S. Indraprastha University and completed his M. E. in Computer Technology and Applications from University of Delhi. He then went on to pursue Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from University of Delhi. His achievements in the research field are quite remarkable. With around 40 research papers in diverse areas successfully published in various reputed journals and conferences, his current research interests include opportunistic networks, wireless ad hoc networks, and sensor networks. The International Conference SIGMA-2018 is going to be organized in association with IOS-Press, Netherlands and Springer,Germany at Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology (NSIT), New Delhi during February 23-25, 2018. The basic aim of SIGMA- 2018 is to provide a common platform to the researchers in related fields to explore and discuss various aspects of artificial intelligence applications and advances in soft computing techniques. The Conference will provide excellent opportunities for the presentation of interesting new research results and discussion about them, leading to knowledge transfer and the generation of new ideas. All accepted papers will be published in the Conference proceedings. The conference will feature plenary/keynote talks, workshops, demonstrations, parallel technical sessions and tutorials. Interactive sessions by various eminent speakers are also part of the conference. Various awards and accolades are in store for the best papers and posters in each track. Authors are invited to submit original unpublished work that is not currently under consideration for publication
elsewhere via the various tracks hosted by SIGMA 2018. The last date for submission of papers is 15th November, 2017 and the accepted ones will get to know the results by 5th December.
