India’s 2018 score increased by 0.075 to 5.639 placing it 10th in the Asia and Oceania region and 59th (out of 125) in the world.
India’s "Legal and Political Subindex" increased by 0.088 to 4.582. India’s "Physical Property Rights Subindex" increased by 0.201 to 6.532. India’s "Intellectual Property Rights Subindex" decreased by -0.06 to 5.802

Department of industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) plans to include categories like , , and in ease of doing a business ranking of states next year.
Based on the latest rankings, the ease-of-doing-business scorecard is divided into four parts: "Top Achievers" (above 95%, 9 states), "Achievers" (90-95%, 6 states), "Fast Movers" (80-90%, 3 states) and "Aspires" (Below 80%, 18 states)
