It engages in Parliamentary Debates, Conventional Debates, MUN’s and Creative Writing under its three wings. The main objective of Trenchant is to incorporate a sense of responsibility, resistance, and
readiness in all its members in order to prepare them for their future. We also collectively try to ingrain in them the values, ethics, and principles of life. Here's to myriad ideas, creative expressions, and trenchant opinions.

Trenchant – The English Debating Society of Maitreyi College – is now recruiting its next generation of speakers, writers, and leaders.
This year, we’re opening auditions for our three wings:
🎤 Parliamentary Debating – where wit sharpens into argument.
🌍 Model United Nations (MUN) – where diplomacy and leadership take the floor.
✍ Creative Writing – where imagination flows and words create worlds.
Whether you’re a beginner with raw curiosity or a seasoned performer with experience—this is YOUR chance to audition, shine, and become part of one of the most dynamic societies on campus!
