ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਜ਼ੁਬਾਨ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਫਲਤਾ ਲਈ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਦਾ ਕੋਰਸ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਇਹ ਕੋਰਸ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਲੋਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮ ਅੱਗੇ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਗੌਰਵ ਨਾਲ ਲਿਖਵਾਉਂਦੇ ਸਨ। ਗਿਆਨੀ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਦਾ ਬੀ ਏ ਸਮਝੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਸੀ। ਗਿਆਨੀ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ - ਬੁਧੀਮਾਨੀ (ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਦੀ 10ਵੀੰ ਫਿਰ ਵਿਦਵਾਨੀ (ਬਾਰ੍ਹਵੀਂ) ਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਗਿਆਨੀ (ਬੀ ਏ) ਹੁੰਦੀ ਸੀ।
1949 ਦਾ - 87 ਸਾਲਾ ਬੀਬੀ ਜਸਬੀਰ ਕੌਰ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਰਟੀਫ਼ਿਕੇਟ ਵਿਖਾਇਆ। ਅੱਵਲ ਨੰਬਰ ਤੇ ਆਏ ਸਨ।
ਉਪਰਲੀਆਂ ਦੋ ਲਾਈਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਪਸ਼ਟ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਜ਼ੁਬਾਨ ਦੇ ਮੁਦਈਆਂ ਦਾ ਕੀ ਸੁਪਨਾ ਸੀ ਤੇ ਹੈ।

Azad Hind Fauj [Indian National Army INA] training camp in Shanghai with Sikh recruits.
The building with the tri-color flying is the "Shanghai Gurdwara" (built 1908). The Sikh community of Shanghai had volunteered to give the building to INA for its use. Subhas Chandra Bose visited this training camp in 1944.
