A proud achievement for IISER Thiruvananthapuram!

A team from IISER Thiruvananthapuram, comprising Sidharth MR (BSMS 22), Eldho Sam Varghese (BSMS 22), and Bharath Krishna S (IPhD 21), secured the Runner-Up position at the Zerodha Varsity Business and Financial Literacy Quiz – Kerala Campus Edition 2026 State Grand Finale, held in Kochi.

The team had earlier emerged victorious in the Thiruvananthapuram Zonal Round held on August 18, 2026, earning their place in the State Grand Finale. Competing against the zonal winners from across Kerala, the team finished second and secured a cash prize of ₹45,000.

IISER TVM congratulates Sidharth, Eldho and Bharath on this excellent achievement and wishes them continued success.

IISER Thiruvananthapuram, through its Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA), organised the distribution of water purifiers to tribal settlement communities in adopted villages on 19 August 2026.

The programme was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Governor of Kerala, Shri Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar Ji, with Dr. Vijayalakshmi Deshmane, Chairperson, Board of Governors, IISER Thiruvananthapuram, presiding over the function, in the presence of Prof. S. Murty Srinivasula, Director, IISER Thiruvananthapuram.

The initiative reflects IISER TVM’s continued commitment to meaningful community engagement and improving access to safe drinking water for rural and tribal communities.

Under the Ministry of Education’s Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) initiative, IISER TVM is launching a drive to distribute water purifiers to tribal settlement families in its adopted villages, supporting rural health and clean water access.
This landmark function on 19.08.26 will be inaugurated by Shri Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar ji, Hon’ble Governor of Kerala, with Hon’ble BoG Chairperson Dr. Vijayalakshmi Deshmane presiding over the event. Together with the UBA team, we remain dedicated to driving meaningful social impact across local communities.

The Student Welfare Council, in collaboration with the Health Centre and KIMS, successfully completed the HPV Vaccination Drive for students at IISER Thiruvananthapuram.

Conducted in two phases, the programme ensured the successful administration of all three doses of the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine to over 400 students, reinforcing the Institute's commitment to preventive healthcare and student well-being.

IISER TVM extends its sincere appreciation to the Student Welfare Council, the Health Centre, KIMS, and all the students who participated in making this initiative a success.Together, we continue to build a healthier and more informed campus community.
