EDUCATION SYSTEM IN ETHIOPIA AND IN TIGRAY REGION:
The Govt of has recognized the right to education by declaring a slogan i.e." Education For All", but according to a 2022 report by the U.N.,1.39 million children in the region are out of school because of Ethiopia's civil war.
The academic year runs from September to July and education is free at the primary level. Students enter school at age 7 and compulsory (primary) education lasts for six years and ends at age 12. In Ethiopia, 32% of children of official primary school age are out of school.
The country's approximately 50 million children remained at a high risk of living in poverty and having limited access to essential services. Ethiopia remained vulnerable to the effects of climate change in 2018 and continued to experience droughts and floods.
