Here is an excellent replacement for Harmful food colours
Take 7-8 whole Dry Kashmiri Red Chillies microwave them for 10-15 seconds, break them de seed. Grind them to fine powder along with a 1 tsp of Mustard Oil. Refrigerate this powder in an air tight container, use when required in curries and sauces where you need bright red colour.
