According to Hindu calendar, Guru Purnima is celebrated every year on the full moon day of Ashadha month is celebrated to recognize and honour the teachers and gurus that have guided us throughout our lives, according to Hindu customs. Guru Purnima has its origins in the Vedic period. Throughout history, Hindus, Jains, and Buddhists have observed Guru Purnima to honor their gurus. For Buddhists, Guru Purnima is a festive occasion. A sermon is said to have been given by Lord Buddha on this day. It is also known as Vyasa Purnima as As Ved Vyasa, the author of the Mahabharata, was born on this day. It is believed that Ved Vyas had given the knowledge of the four Vedas for the first time. For this reason, Maharishi Vyas Ji has been given the title of the first Guru. Guru Purnima, this year, will be celebrated on July 13. Purnima Tithi is predicted to be in effect from 4:00 am of July 13 to 12:06 am of July 14.

As a tradition, Guru Purnima is celebrated to honour the gurus for their dedication and selflessness. On this day, special bond between teachers and students is celebrated. Nowadays, teachers are the ones who have the greatest impact on the lives of students. Along with teaching co-curricular abilities and transferring knowledge, they also foster morality and life skills that prepare kids for life after school. It is a religious belief that worshiping Lord Vishnu on the full moon date fulfills all the wishes of the devotees.
