Campus Placement and Internship Drive 2026
“Opportunities don’t happen; you create them.” – Chris Grosser
The Placement Cell of J. K. College of Science and Commerce successfully organized a Campus Placement and Internship Drive on 17th March 2026 at the college campus. The drive commenced at 9:00 a.m. and concluded at 2:00 p.m., witnessing enthusiastic participation from recruiters and students alike.
The drive began with a brief introduction to the company profiles by the recruiters, providing students with valuable insights into organizational culture, job roles, and career growth opportunities. The recruiters were highly supportive, approachable, and cooperative, creating a positive environment. They actively encouraged students, boosted their morale, and guided them through the recruitment process. Many companies also offered students the opportunity to begin as interns, with the possibility of transitioning into full-time or part-time roles upon successful completion of their graduation, thereby ensuring continuous career support.
The primary objective of the drive was to provide placement opportunities to final-year students from IT, Computer Science, Commerce, and Management streams, along with facilitating summer internship opportunities for first- and second-year undergraduate students. The initiative served as a vital platform for bridging the gap between academic learning and industry requirements.
A total of 25 reputed companies participated in the drive, including Quastech, Bright Future, Anudip, NCDEX eMarkets Ltd, JHS & Associates LLP, Antraweb Technologies Pvt. Ltd., TESCOM, State Bank of India, AQM Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Bharat CXO, VGM Consultants Ltd., ICAN Mentors Pvt. Ltd., Fino Payments Bank, VAK Reports, Probox Infotech Pvt. Ltd., 1Point1 Solutions, Magic Bus, ICICI Bank, Brocus IT Solutions Pvt. Ltd., HDB Financial Services, A.J. Mohan & Associates, Altruist Technologies Pvt. Ltd., One Insurance Brokers Pvt. Ltd., Yes Securities, eClerx Services Ltd., and Infohybrid. Their participation added immense value and diversity to the recruitment process.
The drive saw active student participation, with 78 students from IT and Computer Science backgrounds and 126 students from Commerce and Management fields attending the event.
The outcome of the drive was highly encouraging, with 100+ students successfully placed across various organizations. Additionally, 50 students secured internship opportunities, reflecting the effectiveness of the initiative in enhancing employability and providing early industry exposure.
The success of the event was made possible through the unwavering support and guidance of the institution’s leadership. The Placement Cell extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Management for their invaluable support and encouragement. Sincere thanks are due to the Principal, Dr. Shraddha M. Bhome, for her constant guidance and inspiration.
Special appreciation is extended to Asst. Prof. Meenakshi Sambamoorthy, Placement In-charge, for her dedicated efforts in planning and executing the drive. The consistent support of all faculty members is gratefully acknowledged. The Placement Cell also conveys its gratitude to the non-teaching staff for their cooperation, which ensured the smooth and efficient conduct of the event.
Overall, the Campus Placement and Internship Drive 2026 was a resounding success, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to student career advancement, industry collaboration, and holistic development. The event stands as a testament to the college’s continuous efforts in creating meaningful career pathways for its students and strengthening its placement ecosystem.

Tilak Education Society’s J.K. College of Science and Commerce (Autonomous), Ghansoli, through the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) in collaboration with the Department of Computer Technology, organized an Internal Hackathon on 26th September 2025 for students to participate in the Smart India Hackathon (SIH) initiative launched by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
The objective of the Internal Hackathon was to encourage students to develop innovative technological solutions for real-world problems and to select the best teams to represent the institution at the Smart India Hackathon (SIH). The event provided a platform for students to showcase their creativity, problem-solving abilities, and technical knowledge while working collaboratively in teams.
During the hackathon, students presented their innovative project ideas and technological solutions addressing various problem statements. Participants demonstrated enthusiasm, creativity, and analytical thinking while explaining their concepts and implementation strategies. The event also encouraged students to apply their technical knowledge in areas such as software development, digital solutions, and emerging technologies.
The Internal Hackathon witnessed active participation from students of different departments, creating a dynamic and collaborative learning environment. The session provided valuable exposure to students regarding the process of innovation, idea development, and teamwork required in national-level hackathons like Smart India Hackathon (SIH).
The event was conducted under the guidance and support of Principal Dr. Shraddha M. Bhome. The programme was successfully coordinated by Asst. Prof. Kimi G (IIC Convenor) and Asst. Prof. Trupti Deshmukh (Coordinator – Department of IT), with support from Asst. Prof. Saba Ansari (HOD – Department of CS & IT).
Overall, the Internal Hackathon proved to be a productive and inspiring initiative that encouraged students to think innovatively, develop practical technological solutions, and actively participate in national innovation programmes such as the Smart India Hackathon (SIH).

Tilak Education Society’s J. K. College of Science and Commerce, Ghansoli, through the Department of Management Studies, in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), organized “Startup Sabha (Shark Tank)” on 2nd February 2026 as part of BIZNOVA, an intercollegiate management fest. The event commenced at 10:00 a.m. in Room No. 412 and witnessed enthusiastic participation from undergraduate students.
Startup Sabha was conceptualized with the aim of fostering innovation, leadership, creativity, and managerial excellence among students. The event provided a platform for aspiring young entrepreneurs to present their innovative startup ideas, develop strategic thinking, and enhance their communication and decision-making abilities.
The competition was designed in the format of a Shark Tank, where participants pitched their startup ideas before a panel of judges acting as investors. Each team presented their business proposals highlighting aspects such as problem identification, innovative solutions, target market, revenue model, financial projections, marketing strategies, and future scalability.
A total of 40 students participated in the event and demonstrated remarkable creativity, confidence, and entrepreneurial thinking while presenting their ideas. The judging panel evaluated the presentations based on originality, feasibility, market potential, financial planning, and presentation skills. The interactive question-and-answer session further enhanced the excitement of the competition as participants defended their ideas and justified their business strategies.
The event successfully created a stimulating environment that encouraged students to explore entrepreneurship and innovation beyond traditional career paths. It helped participants strengthen their managerial, analytical, and leadership skills while gaining practical exposure to business planning and pitching.
The program was successfully conducted under the guidance of Dr. Shraddha M. Bhome, Principal of the college. The event was coordinated by Kimi Garg, IIC Convenor, and Swati Pawar, Coordinator B.Com (MS).

A counselling session for the Gem & Jewellery Course was organized by Institution's Innovation Council ( IIC) & Women Development Cell of J .K. College of Science & Commerce in collaboration with Dezaview Skill Learning and Training System Pvt. Ltd on 19thDecember 2025 at 9:00 am onwards. The session aimed to create awareness among students about career opportunities in the gem and jewellery sector and to provide detailed information about the course structure and benefits.
The course is offered under the Pramod Mahajan Udyojakta Yojana, a government initiative designed to promote skill development and entrepreneurship among youth. The program focuses on developing practical skills and industry knowledge required in the gem and jewellery field.
During the counselling session, representatives from the training organization explained the objectives, eligibility criteria, duration, training modules, and career prospects associated with the course. Students were informed about the scope of employment in areas such as jewellery design, gemstone identification, retail jewellery management, and entrepreneurship in the jewellery industry.
The session also included an interactive discussion where students were encouraged to ask questions and clarify their doubts regarding the course, certification, and potential career pathways. The speakers emphasized the importance of skill-based education and highlighted how the program could help students develop professional competencies and entrepreneurial abilities.
Approximately 150+ students participated in the counselling session, showing great enthusiasm and interest in learning about the skill-based training opportunities available through the program.
Overall, the session received a positive response from students and proved to be informative and beneficial in guiding them toward skill development and career growth in the gem and jewellery sector.

She the Power:Her Story-Our Future

On the eve of International Women’s Day,J K College of Commerce & Science ‘s Woman Development Cell organized an empowering seminar titled "She the Power: Her Story – Our Future." The event served as a platform to celebrate female achievement and encourage young women to envision a future without professional boundaries. A total of 104 girl students from the first and second-year all streams attended the session, gaining valuable perspectives from two accomplished guest speakers.The Session started with Introduction and opening remarks by Principal Dr Shraddha Bhome.
The seminar featured two diverse success stories, illustrating that "power" comes in many forms
Dr. Swati Pawar (Radiologist): Dr. Pawar shared her journey through the rigorous field of medicine. She highlighted the importance of specialized expertise and resilience, urging students to remain dedicated to their academic pursuits as a foundation for high-level professional success.
CA Amita Kulkarni (Entrepreneur): Representing the spirit of modern entrepreneurship, Ms. Kulkarni discussed her bold decision to leave a full-time career as a Chartered Accountant to follow her passion for baking. She now successfully runs her own Cake Studio, proving that professional fulfillment often comes from having the courage to pivot toward one's true calling.The program concluded with an interactive Q & A between the speakers and students. The formal Vote of Thanks was proposed to express sincere gratitude to the guests for their time and inspiring words. Special appreciation was also extended to the college administration and the student volunteers ,Lady Representative Ms Falak Subhani who ensured the smooth ex*****on of the event. The seminar successfully reinforced the message that every woman's story has the potential to shape a more empowered future. Report on “A Community Awareness drive on Fire Breakout Disaster Management”
The Community Engagement cell, in collaboration with the BCom (Banking and Insurance) Department, successfully organized a community awareness drive on Fire Breakout Disaster Management on October 9, 2025, at 10:30 am. A total of 134 beneficiaries were reached through this initiative, which saw enthusiastic participation from students across all three years of the BBI stream.
During the drive, students created awareness among the public about fire safety measures and disaster management techniques. The event also provided a valuable opportunity for students to engage with the community and gather feedback, promoting a sense of social responsibility and civic engagement. The community awareness drive served as a significant platform for knowledge sharing and capacity building, empowering both students and community members with essential skills to mitigate fire-related disasters.
The successful ex*****on of the competition was made possible under the valuable guidance of Dr. (Mrs.) Shraddha M. Bhome, HOD & Principal, along with the dedicated efforts of Asst. Prof. Kimi Garg (BCom B&I Coordinator), Asst. Prof. Neha Mishra (BCom B&I Faculty Member) and Asst. Prof. Reetu Gupta (BCom B&I Faculty Member).
