We were pleased to host the Department of Economic Affairs , Ministry of Finance, Govt of India delegation led by Ms. Anuradha Guru, Economic Adviser, Department of Economic Advisor, DEA at the DY Patil University, Navi Mumbai on 16th June 2026 at the Centre of Excellence (COE).
The visit provided an opportunity to showcase the University's incubation ecosystem, innovation initiatives, and start-up support facilities, followed by an engaging interactive session with entrepreneurs and start-up founders. The discussions focused on fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and strengthening the start-up ecosystem in India.
The meeting was graced by the esteemed presence of Hon'ble Chancellor Dr. Vijay Patil Sir, whose encouragement and vision added immense value to the occasion. The event was coordinated by Prof. (Dr.) Rakesh Somani, Principal, DY Patil Deemed to be University School of Pharmacy and Vice Chairman, CII Thane Zone.
Prof Purvi Pujari, Director, Vijay Patil School of Management and Dr Nitin Sippy, Registrar, D Y Patil University, Dr Ashish Jadhav, Director, D Y Patil Innovation Foundation were also present during this meeting.

The visit concluded on a positive note, with meaningful exchanges of ideas and valuable insights that will contribute towards evidence-based policymaking and the growth of India's innovation and entrepreneurship landscape.

Faculty Orientation on IIC 8.0

Under the aegis of IQAC and IIC, D.Y. Patil Deemed to be University School of Pharmacy, Navi Mumbai organized a faculty orientation session on “Alignment for Institutional Excellence – Faculty Orientation on the Ministry of Education’s IIC 8.0.”

The session was delivered by Dr. Harish Kundaikar, Associate Professor, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, and Innovation Ambassador. He shared key insights on IIC 8.0 and its role in strengthening innovation, entrepreneurship, and institutional excellence.

The session was highly informative and well received by the faculty members, enhancing their understanding of innovation-driven academic initiatives.

✨ योजनेची प्रमुख वैशिष्ट्ये:

✅ नोंदणीकृत फार्मासिस्टच्या अपघाती निधनाच्या प्रसंगी नामनिर्देशित व्यक्तीस ₹5,00,000/- आर्थिक सहाय्य

✅ पात्रता:
• वय 18 ते 60 वर्षे
• वैध MSPC नोंदणी प्रमाणपत्र
• नोंदणीचे नूतनीकरण (Renewal) पूर्ण असणे आवश्यक

🎓 1st Pharm.D Advisory Board Meeting Successfully Conducted

The School of Pharmacy, D.Y. Patil Deemed to be University, Navi Mumbai, successfully conducted the 1st Advisory Board Meeting for the Pharm.D Program on 3rd June 2026.

The meeting brought together distinguished experts from academia, clinical practice, healthcare, and industry, who joined from different locations to share their valuable insights and recommendations for the development and effective implementation of the Pharm.D Program.

Key discussions focused on:
✅ Review and gap analysis of the existing Pharm.D curriculum
✅ Strengthening clinical training and experiential learning opportunities
✅ Enhancing academic, research, and professional development initiatives
✅ Building industry and healthcare collaborations
✅ Developing a strategic roadmap for the successful implementation and growth of the program

The Advisory Board provided valuable suggestions that will help shape a robust, patient-centered, and future-ready Pharm.D curriculum aligned with the evolving needs of healthcare and pharmacy practice.

Under the aegis of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), faculty members and students of DYPUSOP, Navi Mumbai had the opportunity to attend the Research Scholars’ Summit on Employment, Entrepreneurship and Startup Opportunities titled *“Translating Innovative Research into Employment, Entrepreneurship and Startups”*, held on 22 May 2026 at the DAE Convention Centre.

Vice Chairman of the Thane Zone and Principal Dr. Rakesh Somani along with Mrs. Saroj Zambare and Mrs. Piyusha Shete Patil, accompanied the students in participating in the summit. The event provided valuable insights into research translation, innovation, entrepreneurship, and emerging career opportunities across diverse sectors.
