80 Years of Freedom, A Legacy of Pride and Patriotism
As rightly said, “Freedom is not just a privilege; it is a responsibility.” St. Augustine’s High School, Nerul celebrated the 80th Independence Day of India with great patriotic fervour, enthusiasm and pride. The celebration was a vibrant blend of prayer, music, dance, cultural performances and inspiring messages, beautifully reflecting the spirit of “Unity in Diversity.”
The programme commenced with the Lord’s Prayer, Bible Reading, Special Prayer and Praise and Worship, seeking blessings for the nation and its people. The gathering was graced by distinguished guests, including Ms. Kirti Chauhan (PSI-Nerul Police Station), Mrs. Shilpi Bose(IT Senior Manger-Siemens), Mrs. Amruta Diwan(Motivational Speaker and Researcher), Mr. Rithesh Bharat Kanade(Pilot), Ms. Kanchan Prashant Patil(Asst. Professor-Pillai's College, Navi Mumbai), Mr. Vivek Mishra(Co-founder and CEO, ADO Care) and Dr. Sakshi Ashok Wafelkar(MBBS Graduate). Their presence added immense significance to the celebration and inspired the students with their remarkable journeys of achievement and service.
The school proudly felicitated its SSC achievers, celebrating their dedication and academic excellence. The stage then came alive with a soulful Patriotic Theme Orchestra, the graceful semi-classical dance “Nritya Bharat”, an energetic patriotic dance, and a colourful cultural dance. A meaningful skit, “ From Uprising to Awakening,” portrayed the spirit of India’s national uprising while conveying an important message to today’s youth about their responsibility towards the nation. Tree Plantation was also undertaken in the nearby housing societies and the premises as a part of Community transformation. The programme concluded on a patriotic note with the Vote of Thanks, Closing Chorus, School Anthem and National Song, leaving everyone with a renewed sense of pride and gratitude.
The celebration also commemorated 150 years of Vande Mataram, honouring the timeless song that continues to awaken patriotic pride in every Indian heart. A special Vande Mataram Rally, enthusiastically conducted by the Primary and Secondary students, filled the surroundings with patriotic spirit and national pride.
As part of the "Har Ghar Tiranga" initiative, various engaging competitions including Quiz, Elocution, Rangoli Making and Patriotic Song Singing were conducted. Activities like Tricolor flower making, Wall hanging making, Cap making, Kite making, butterfly making etc were also conducted. These activities encouraged students to express their love for the nation creatively while developing confidence, awareness and a sense of responsible citizenship.
The Headmistress, Mrs. Sameera Mane, extended her heartfelt Independence Day wishes and delivered an inspiring address. She reminded the students that freedom is not merely a historical achievement but a responsibility to contribute positively towards the progress of the nation.
The celebration served as a beautiful reminder that the true tribute to our freedom fighters lies in building a nation founded on unity, integrity, discipline and service.

Greening Greenland Society – A Step Towards a Better Tomorrow
Students of St. Augustine’s High School, Nerul, brought the spirit of environmental responsibility to life through a meaningful Tree Plantation Drive at Greenland Society. With enthusiasm and caring hands, our young environmental champions planted saplings and added a touch of green to their surroundings. The activity was not just about planting trees but about planting hope, responsibility and a promise for a greener future. Students learned that every sapling nurtured today will become a source of shade, fresh air and life tomorrow. The initiative inspired everyone to care for nature and spread the message, “Plant today, breathe tomorrow!” 🌿

Tree Plantation Drive at Kohinoor Society
Students of St. Augustine’s High School, Nerul, actively participated in a Tree Plantation Drive organised at Kohinoor Society. The initiative aimed to create awareness among students about the importance of trees and the need to protect our environment. The students enthusiastically planted saplings and learned about their proper care and maintenance. Students of St. Augustine’s High School, Nerul, accompanied by their teachers, visited Nerul Police Station and participated in a Tree Plantation Drive. The students planted saplings in the police station premises and learned about the importance of trees and environmental conservation. The initiative encouraged students to take responsibility for protecting nature and contributing towards a greener and healthier environment.

Interactive Awareness Session on "Say No to Drugs"
An informative and interactive awareness session on "Say No to Drugs" was conducted today at St. Augustine's High School, Nerul for the students of Standards IX and X.
The session was led by Police Officers Mr. Pankaj Dhadge and Mr. Sanjeev Tari, who engaged the students in a meaningful discussion on the harmful effects of drug abuse. Through an informative PowerPoint presentation, they explained the serious physical, mental, emotional, and social consequences of substance abuse.
The officers highlighted how peer pressure, curiosity, and negative influences can lead young people towards drug addiction. They encouraged students to make responsible choices, build self-confidence, resist peer pressure, and seek guidance from parents, teachers, or trusted adults whenever faced with difficult situations.
The session concluded with an interactive question-and-answer segment, where students actively participated and gained valuable insights into leading a healthy, drug-free life. The programme served as a powerful reminder of the importance of making informed decisions and saying "No to Drugs, Yes to Life."
