The Department of Civil Engineering organized a workshop on "Structural Audit, Heritage Structure Restoration and Bidding Process" by Mr. Jatin Ambani (Consulting Civil/Structural engineer, M. D. Advice Consultants) on 14th August, 2026. The workshop was conducted under the banner of the Institution's Students' Chapter of The Institution of Engineers (India). The event was organized by the Civil Engineering Students' Association (CESA) of the department. It was held from 10 AM to 6 PM in the Seminar Hall on the 3rd Floor of the SoET building. A total of 24 students from Second Year (SE), 9 students from Third Year (TE), and 9 students from Final Year (BE) attended the workshop. The workshop aimed to enrich students' understanding of structural audits, restoration of heritage structures, and the bidding process involved in such projects. A resource person with relevant expertise in the field was invited to facilitate the session and share practical insights with the participants. The programme provided a valuable platform for students to gain exposure to specialized and industry-relevant aspects of civil engineering practice. The active participation of students across three academic years reflected strong engagement and interest in the subject matter. The overall feedback of the event is 4.6 out of 5 and one student commented, โThe workshop was very insightful and informative. Looking forward to more practical case studies on heritage restoration in future sessions." Hence, the workshop successfully achieved its objective of enhancing students' technical knowledge beyond the regular curriculum.
