*A Heartfelt Visit to Santa Janardan Orphanage & Old-Age Home* 💖

Some places and people leave lasting impressions on our hearts. Recently, I had the privilege of visiting Santa Janardan Orphanage and Old-Age Home with students from the Samruddhi School of Leadership, and it turned out to be an experience that will remain etched in my soul forever.

This beautiful sanctuary is not just a home for orphan children and elderly individuals but also a shelter for cows, embodying the true spirit of care, compassion, and selfless service. We were humbled to have the opportunity to feed fodder to the cows, which was a moment of quiet joy and connection with nature.

Durga, a 6th-grade girl, left a profound impact on me. Despite being an orphan and having limited resources, she has achieved an incredible feat—153 medals in skating—and recently represented India in an international competition in Thailand. From her, I learned the invaluable lesson of never giving up hope, working hard despite adversities, and keeping a positive spirit no matter the circumstances.

Mr. Dilip Gunjal, who dedicates his life to protecting and serving cows, taught me the essence of loving and caring for cows as sacred beings and performing this duty with unwavering devotion. His compassion and dedication reminded me of the significance of serving Krishna’s beloved animals.

Mrs. Sangita Gunjal impressed me with her dedication to nurturing and guiding the girls in the orphanage while managing her household responsibilities with grace. From her, I learned how to work for the cause of dharma while performing our routine duties with love and commitment.

Meeting Vasudevanand Swami, a 104-year-old sage, was another highlight of the visit. His serene presence and wise words were inspiring. From him, I learned the secrets of longevity and inner peace: waking up early, living a regulated life, practicing yoga, and spreading dharma through love and care for children.

Our students distributed educational supplies to the children, and we shared the timeless wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita with the elder students. While we went there thinking we would give something, what we received in return was far greater—love, hope, inspiration, joy, and countless life lessons that will make this New Year truly meaningful.

As I reflect on this visit, my heart overflows with gratitude, my throat chokes, and my eyes well up. It taught me that in serving others, we often end up enriching our own lives in ways we never imagined.

🙏 Let’s take inspiration from these unsung heroes and strive to make a difference wherever we can.

🌾 Field Visit to Sahyadri Farms, Mohadi 🌿

Students of ISKCON's Samruddhi School of Leadership had an enriching field visit to Sahyadri Farms, Mohadi. The visit provided valuable insights into modern agricultural practices, food processing techniques, and sustainable farming.

Students thoroughly enjoyed learning about:

Agro-processing techniques
Supply chain management in agriculture
Modern packaging and fruit processing
Export process

The trip was not only educational but also fun-filled as students relished fresh fruit juices and delicious ice cream!

It was a perfect blend of learning and enjoyment, leaving everyone with great memories and new perspectives on agriculture.

Two days Mega celebration Of Shree Krishna Janmashtami

This year Samruddhi School students did the service of managing Shoe Stand.

The outcome of the service…..

1. They had to stand at least for 1-2 hours which was austerity for the body. (This makes them grow physically)

2. They had come on time which instilled the value of punctuality and responsibility. (This makes them grow Mentally)

3. One would relieve the other for having dinner yesterday- This instilled value of cooperation and teamwork. (This makes them grow socially)

4. At some point there was a huge crowd on the day of Janmashtami. This instilled value of being alert and nimble.

5. To some extent the fear of facing a crowd is diminished. (This makes them grow Mentally)

6. Because the group service was related to Shoe Stand- A menial service attitude is developed and it awakens humility (Humility is a key value of a successful leader according to Peter Burwash, the author of the book- ‘The key to Great Leadership’)

7. They could experience the joy of service, which we have to offer them, and which is an antidote for an inferiority complex, loneliness, depression, etc.

8. And finally it was a service rendered to devotees on the auspicious occasion of Krishna Janmashtami and students evoked blessings of Vaishnavas and that of Krishna. (This makes them grow spiritually)

As we look at the overall growth of students and hence the name “Samruddhi”
