CET/JEE/NEET Key Points.
► The boiling point of solution is greater than pure solvent.

► the freezing point and V.P of solution is lower than pure liquid.

► one molal solution of any non electrolyte and non volatile substance will have the same F.P, B.P and vapour pressure.

► the increase in boiling point or decrease in F.P of electrolyte solution depends on the extent of ionization and number of ions present in the formula unit.

► e.g. 1 molal solution of NaCl have two moles of ions and will have carry double change than 1 molal solution of sugar.

► Liquids have three types of properties;
1; Colligative properties; depends on the number of solute particles.
2; constitutive properties; depends on the arrangement of particles.
3; additive properties; the properties of individual particle like Atomic mass or molecular mass

► When the attractive forces between the solute and solvent is more than solute solute attraction, the V.P decreases, B.P increases, called negative deviation.

► when the attractive forces b/w solute solvent is lower than solute solute interaction, V.P increases, B.P decreases and is called positive
