Bodhini

Bodhini ‘Bodhini’ is an initiative to share observations on how learning happens. The attempt is to arrive at ways to better education for our children.

Background: An education system was established in India during British rule. The objective, then, was to create ‘blind followers’. Today we inherit the same system. Each one of us spends more than 15-16 years in this system. Many of us are finding themselves to be unemployable graduates. Any independent nation would want their youth to be ‘thought leaders’ or ‘thinking followers’. It calls for ap

preciating ‘what one learns’ rather than forceful ‘what one is taught’ or what numbers one scores. Scenario: Today we see sincere efforts to improve the system. However, most of these efforts are seen in the areas of; Infrastructure, Technology or Pedagogies (Teaching Methods). These are necessary but let us not forget the core aspect. We need to focus on how a student learns. Appeal: Please share your observations. Let’s interact on how learning happens. Your observations could be about yourselves or your kids. We plan to share a substantial input to the educational institutes. Let’s take the baby step towards a brighter future!
