As part of the NEP 2020 Week celebrations, a student awareness session titled "Sensitization on NEP and UGC Initiatives" was organized on 29th & 30th July 2025. This session was specifically conducted for second-year and final-year engineering students of K. K. Wagh Institute of Engineering Education and Research, Nashik. The event aimed to educate students about the key features and objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and various initiatives introduced by the University Grants Commission (UGC). It witnessed enthusiastic participation from more than 150 students across different departments. The speaker delivered an engaging and informative talk, shedding light on the significant shift proposed by NEP 2020—from traditional rote-based learning to a more holistic approach that emphasizes critical thinking, creativity, experiential learning, and strong conceptual clarity. The session also highlighted the policy’s focus on promoting inclusive and equitable education, with a special emphasis on bridging the gap for socially and economically disadvantaged groups. Overall, the awareness session played a pivotal role in enhancing students’ understanding of the NEP 2020 and its transformative vision for the future of higher education in India.
