Established in 1981, Shri Guru Gobind Singhji Institute of Engineering and Technology (SGGSIET), Nanded, is one of the promising autonomous institutions in technical education, research and technology transfer. It receives 100% grant-in
aid from Government of Maharashtra and is affiliated to Swami Ramanand Teerth Maratahwada University, Nanded. Started with just 2 undergraduate programs, it now offers 10 undergraduate, 10 postgraduate, and offers Ph.D. program. In less than 25 years of its inception, Institute has made a mark in technical education and quality research which got endorsed by a third-party survey constituted by Government of Maharashtra and headed by Dr. F. C. Kohli, Chairman, TCS. Through that survey conducted in 2004, we got identified as Institute which can be raised to the level of Centre of Excellence along with other institutes COE Pune, VJTI Mumbai, and ICT Mumbai. Pragmatic Management has taken steps to depute faculty to IITs and NITs for higher studies. Faculty acquired higher qualifications and brought back along with them culture of premier organizations. Institute is rich in highly qualified faculty with more than 50% of regular faculty Ph.D. holders. Modern facilities for teaching, research, and consultancy services are provided. Faculty have contributed for laboratory development through proposals to various funding agencies like AICTE, DST, BARC, NRB, etc. other than funding obtained under all three phases of TEQIP and from Government of Maharashtra. Most laboratories are kept open 24×7. Four departments have DST-FIST laboratories. Faculty research abilities have led to establishment of "Centre of Excellence in Signal and Image Processing" under TEQIP-II. We also established Centres of Excellence in Metal Forming, VLSI Design and Verification, and Solar Energy. Institute has progressive and pragmatic approach in providing its services to its stakeholders. We believe in self-learning of students. It is always our endeavor to provide encouraging environment for students’ learning. Collaborations with several premier institutes (including foreign universities) and industries provide opportunities like internships, credit transfers, industry relevant projects, etc., for students. Institute has signed MoUs for academic collaboration with Foreign Universities like CUNY CREST and Civil Engineering Department, The City University of New York, USA, Oakland University Michigan, USA, SAI Technologies, USA and Universiti Teknologi Petronas, Malaysia, etc. The institute has established the industry supported laboratories like E-PASS laboratory sponsored by Emerson Automation Solution, Mumbai, Center for VLSI Design and Verification by Mentor (a Siemens Company), USA and NVDIA GPU Education Centre, Pune giving fillip to the research and skill development activities. Students have also taken advantage and performed par excellence. It is exhibited by their placement either in terms of count or positions at various renowned industries, higher education opportunities (so far, our students have got AIR1 four times in GATE), establishing their own ventures (including MNCs), and selection in administrative and engineering services. Students have exhibited overall development through participation in socially relevant projects and activities. They have grabbed opportunities of serving local administration/government agencies through process of competitive bidding. Research culture of institute has been proven through publication in peer reviewed journals and reputed international conferences. Institute has excellent track record of publications with recent statistics as 1200+ peer reviewed publications, 8000+ research citations, 25 patents filed and two awarded. Many faculty members act as reviewers for international journals and have published 46 books. Many faculty are reviewers for international journals. Several books have also been published by faculty. The institute is having a very active Alumni network with SEAA (SGGS Engineers Alumni Association) as its front end registered organization. Alumni Meet is organized annually on the campus and occasionally in Abroad. Establishment of Innovation Laboratory, MHRD's Institution Innovation Council, Incubation Centre, and Engineering Exploration laboratory has led to innovation culture. Participation of roughly 15% of the total student strength in various Innovation projects is a key feature of the institution. Students get exposure to multidisciplinary and innovative project in institute Innovation laboratory. Students bagged many awards in National competitions like AIR-1 in BAJA 2020, AIR-3 in BAJA 2018, 5 Smart India Hackathon Winners, etc. Patenting is becoming a promising feature of the institute, because student projects are also getting converted into patents. We are happy to convey all that our institute has secured 4th Rank in ARIIA 2020 in Govt. and Govt. aided Category. Recently, the institute was selected to establish prestigious prestigious AICTE-IDEA (Idea Development, Evaluation & Application) Laboratory. SGGSIET Nanded is one among only 5 institutes from Maharashtra selected for the scheme. It is also the only institute from Marathwada and Vidarbha regions. Under this scheme, institute will have to raise Rs. 55 lakh from Industry/institute funds, and AICTE will support Rs. 55 lakh. Institute was also ranked 89th in 2015 NIRF Rankings. Institute provides conducive environment and encouragement for improving students personality through students associations, various clubs, UPSC chapter, support for GATE, career guidance, organization of annual National level Technical event PRAGYAA, annual state level sport event ZENITH, and cultural activities through UTSAV. Foreign language certificate courses such as German, Spanish and French etc. are available to students and faculty. Institute boasts for having 25+ Placement MNC partners. Average placement record for last five years is above 60%. Institute is having neat, clean and green campus spread over 46 acres. Two hostel buildings for boys’ and three for girls’ to accommodate 1300 students. Institute provides family accommodation to full time Ph.D. students. There are guest rooms, medical facility and hygienic food courts and mess. Library has stock of more than 56000 books and 4000 bound volumes of national and international journals. Institute subscribes 75+ National and 50+ International journals annually, and also has subscriptions to many online journals such as IEEE Explore, Elsevier, Science Direct, Springer, ASME, ASCE, etc. Reading room of library is having capacity of 250 students. Institute provides the common facilities like Auditorium, Open Air Theatre, and canteens on campus. The campus is having round the clock security, uninterrupted power supply, High Speed internet with Wi-Fi Connectivity. Institute operates a very efficient transport system with a fleet of 8 buses. Institute provides good sports facilities - air conditioned well equipped Gymnasium, Table-tennis hall, volleyball court, basketball court, cricket turf wicket ground, tennis clay court with flood lights and badminton. ✨ NSS 7-Day Special Camp | “Not Me, But You” ✨
The NSS Team of SGGS Institute of Engineering & Technology successfully completed a 07 Days Special Camp at Govindwadi Village, Georai Tehsil, Beed District, from 02 to 08 December 2025, guided by the inspiring NSS motto “Not Me, But You.”
The camp provided a meaningful platform for community engagement and experiential learning through social, educational, health, technical, and cultural activities. It helped volunteers develop leadership, teamwork, discipline, empathy, and a strong sense of social responsibility.
The program was conducted under the guidance of Director Dr. Manesh Kokare, Dean SA Prof. Sanjay Dethe, NSS Programme Officers Dr. Madhav Vaidya and Dr. Dipak Wagre, with support from Dr. Rekha Bhalekar, Dr. G. K. Pakle, Dr. Atul Shinde, and Dr. S. B. Munde.
The camp proved to be a transformative experience, inspiring volunteers to contribute actively to community development and nation-building.

Career Orientation Program at SGGSIE&T, Nanded
SGGSIE&T hosted a Career Orientation Program for nearly 100 students from Kalyankar Classes, Nanded, on 10 December 2025. The visit began with an introductory session at A4 Hall, followed by comprehensive departmental tours, during which students interacted with faculty and gained insights into engineering programs and career pathways.
The event was conducted under the guidance of Director Dr. Manesh B. Kokare, and coordinated by the NSS team led by Prof. Sanjay Dethe and Dr. Kiran Sanap.
Such outreach initiatives help young learners to make informed decisions about their future academic pursuits.

World AIDS Day Awareness Event at SGGSIE&T
On 01 December 2025, the NSS Unit of SGGSIE&T organized an HIV/AIDS Awareness Quiz Competition and Poster Presentation to promote scientific awareness and responsible behaviour among students.
Students enthusiastically participated in quizzes covering HIV/AIDS basics, prevention, and government health schemes, while creative posters highlighted awareness messages, stigma reduction, and support systems.
The event contributed to disseminating accurate information, fostering open discussions, and enhancing public health awareness across the campus.

🎉 Spreading Smiles with Purpose! 🙏💙
This year, Team Swayambhu SGGS celebrated the 10-day Ganpati festival with great devotion and unity. After the event, the team decided to use the remaining funds for a noble cause — supporting needy and orphan children.
✨ SGGS Swayambhu donated goods worth ₹15,000, including daily essentials, groceries, and a mixer–grinder, to the children of Lahuji Salve Niradhar Nirashrit Balkashram.
The donation program was graced by the presence of Dethe Sir (Dean S.A.), Dr. Ankush Sawarkar (Faculty Coordinator, Swayambhu), Mr. Ravi Shinde (Faculty Co-Coordinator), along with Sachin, Nirmal Deshmukh (President, Swayambhu), and many dedicated students of Team Swayambhu SGGS who actively contributed to the initiative.

With exams around the corner, managing stress and maintaining positivity is essential! A special Guidance and Discussion Session was organized on 8th November 2025 at Krishna Mess Recreation Hall for the resident girl students of Devgiri, Nandgiri, and Godavari hostels at SGGSIE&T.
Psychotherapist, Dr. Pushpa Gaikwad, guided the students on effective techniques for managing exam stress and maintaining a positive mindset during the examination period. She also emphasized the importance of cleanliness and hygiene in the hostel premises for maintaining good health and a pleasant living environment.
The event was held under the guidance of Dr. Manesh Kokare (Director), Dr. Savarkar (Rector), Dr. Pranita Balve and Dr. Pournima Talele.

🌱 Tree Plantation Drive by NSS-SGGSIE&T, Nanded 🌿
The NSS Unit of SGGSIE&T, Vishnupuri, Nanded, under the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, organized a Tree Plantation Drive at Kalhal Village on 9th November 2025.
Under the guidance of Dr. Madhav Vaidya, Dr. Anand Chavan, and Dr. Dipak Wagre, a total of 45 NSS volunteers enthusiastically participated in this green initiative. Together, they planted 500 saplings, contributing towards environmental conservation and promoting a sustainable ecological balance.
This initiative highlights SGGSIE&T's collective effort to build a greener, more sustainable future. 🌳💚

The NSS Unit of SGGSIE&T, Nanded, proudly participated in the “Run for Unity” organized by the SP Office, Nanded, on 31st October, marking the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel — the Iron Man of India.

🎉 Congratulations to Dr. Pournima Talele! 🌸
Dr. Pournima Talele, Assistant Professor, Department of BSHM (Chemistry), Shri Guru Gobind Singhji Institute of Engineering and Technology (SGGSIET), Vishnupuri, Nanded, has been selected for the prestigious “Best Young Chemistry Teacher Award (below 45 years)” by the Association of Chemistry Teachers (ACT), India.

Two teams from Shri Guru Gobind Singhji Institute of Engineering and Technology (SGGSIET), Nanded have successfully qualified for the Ideation Round of RoboFest 2026. This achievement marks another proud moment for the institute, showcasing the innovation, technical excellence, and creativity of its budding engineers.
