MANJUSRI PUBLIC SCHOOL CELEBRATES THE 80TH INDEPENDENCE DAY AND HONORS DIRECTOR’S BIRTHDAY AT TEMI CAMPUS

MPS celebrated the 80th Independence Day with immense patriotic fervor, cultural pride, and community spirit. The day’s solemnity began with the ceremonial hoisting of the National Flag, followed by the National Anthem.
The celebration featured a vibrant cultural program organized by the History Club –Timekeepers of Manjusri, the Drama Club, and the Event team.
The event showcased impressive group songs, dance performances, quiz and an impactful theatrical skit. The skit delivered a powerful message, emphasizing that the development and progress of the nation rest upon its citizens. It urged young learners to uphold the core ideals of the nation's founding fathers by striving to become responsible, active, and model citizens.

The day held dual significance for the MPS community as the school also celebrated the birthday of our Director Mr. Loday Chungyalpa with great enthusiasm. Students and faculty joined together to extend their heartfelt wishes, expressing deep gratitude for his leadership, vision, and ongoing dedication to the institution.

Following the main assembly and cultural proceedings, students returned to their classrooms where they enjoyed special refreshments while viewing an educational movie. The memorable day concluded on a creative note with a school-wide art competition, where students showcased their artistic talents and reflected the spirit of Freedom through their artwork.

'TRIUMPH ON THE COURT: MPS ATHLETES SHINE AT CBSE CLUSTER I VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT'

Manjusri Public School is immensely proud to announce the outstanding success of our volleyball teams at the recently concluded CBSE Cluster I Volleyball Tournament, hosted by Kaziranga English School in Guwahati, Assam.

Out of 89 participating schools from across Northeast India, MPS athletes delivered a stellar performance, securing top podium finishes across three distinct categories:
U-14 Girls: CHAMPIONS (Defeated DPS Dhaligaon in a thrilling final.

U-14 Boys: RUNNERS-UP (Finalists vs. Maharishi Vidya Mandir, Silpukhuri)
U-19 Girls: 3RD PLACE (Podium Finishers)
Special Individual Honors: Huge congratulations to our athlete, 'Dechen Zangmu Gurung', who was awarded Player of the Tournament for her extraordinary court leadership and performance.

A huge shoutout to Ms Binita for accompanying the team and of course our dedicated coaches, Mr. Karma Shenga and Mr. Siddarth Pakhrin, whose strategic guidance and tireless mentorship made these victories possible.

BUILDING A KINDER TOMORROW: MANJUSRI PUBLIC SCHOOL CONCLUDES ‘PAWSITIVE FUTURE’ ANIMAL WELFARE DRIVE

Demonstrating our commitment to community service and animal health, Manjusri Public School’s Science Department successfully hosted the "Pawsitive Future" Vaccination & Sterilization Drive on August 4–5, 2026.
Organized in collaboration with the SARAH Programme (Govt. of Sikkim), the Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, Temi–Tarku GPU, and the BDO Office, this initiative brought vital health services to our campus and local community.

Key Highlights:

1. Community Awareness: Hosted an interactive session at Panchayat Bhawan, Tarku, educating residents on responsible pet ownership and rabies prevention.
2. Direct Impact: A dedicated medical team led by Dr. Nishika Gurung successfully vaccinated and sterilized 65 animals (57 dogs and 8 cats), covering both stray and owned pets.
3. Learning Beyond Classrooms: By engaging students in meaningful outreach, we aim to nurture empathy, scientific awareness, and social responsibility.

We extend our sincere gratitude to our Chairman Mr. Lodey Chungyalpa, Director Mrs. Wendy Pulger, and Principal Mr. Rajat Bose for their constant guidance and support.

Manjusri Public School, Temi, will organise its first-ever Dog Sterilisation and Vaccination Programme under the S.A.R.A.H. Initiative on 4th and 5th August 2026 with the theme "Dog Sterilisation for a Better Tomorrow."

The programme will be organised to spread awareness about animal care and kindness towards dogs. The main aim will be to control the stray dog population, keep animals healthy, and prevent diseases like rabies.

The sterilisation will be carried out by qualified veterinarians with proper care and safety. An anti-rabies vaccination drive will also be conducted to protect the dogs and the community.

This first-of-its-kind programme at Manjusri Public School will help students understand the importance of compassion and responsibility towards animals. The school believes that "Being Kind to Animals" is a duty of every human being.

We are delighted to share that Swayam Raj Chettri of Grade VII, Manjusri Public School, Temi, brought pride to the school by winning two bronze medals at the '2nd Junior and Sub-Junior State Ranking Badminton Championship 2026', held from 24 to 26 July 2026. The championship was organised by the Badminton Association Namchi (BAN)

Swayam secured 3rd place in the Under-13 Boys' Singles and 3rd place in the Under-15 Boys' Doubles. His excellent performance reflects his hard work, dedication, and passion for badminton.

The school also extends its heartfelt appreciation to Ms. Sofrina Pradhan, our Physical Education Teacher, for her guidance, encouragement, and continuous support.

The 'Inter-School Chess Championship 2026', organised by the 'Sikkim Chess Association', was successfully held from 24 to 26 July 2026. The three-day championship brought together talented young chess players from schools across Sikkim.
Manjusri Public School proudly participated in the championship and delivered an excellent performance. Three of our students secured places among the Top 10, while the remaining participants finished within the Top 20. Their achievements reflect their hard work, dedication, and love for the game.

We’re proud to spotlight Aaradhya Khanal, Batch of 2022, whose journey reflects technical excellence, global learning, and a passion for building innovative technology solutions.
A graduate of Turku University of Applied Sciences with a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) in Information & Communications Technology, Aaradhya, has built a strong foundation in software engineering, information systems and digital technologies. He is currently serving as a Data & Operations Assistant at Fusion International Pvt. Ltd., where he contributes to streamlining operations and supporting data-driven business processes.

'Honouring Excellence: Rajya Puraskar Awardees Felicitated at Manjusri Public School

Manjusri Public School proudly felicitated its Rajya Puraskar Awardees in recognition of their outstanding achievement in the Bharat Scouts and Guides movement.
A total of 11 Scouts and Guides were honoured for successfully qualifying for the prestigious Rajya Puraskar Award, which was conferred by the Hon'ble Governor of Sikkim, Om Prakash Mathur, on 29th June 2026.

The awardees included:

As a mark of pride and recognition, each awardee received the newly designed Manjusri Public School Rajya Puraskar Scarf, featuring an exclusive Gold and Green theme that will be proudly worn by all present and future Rajya Puraskar Award recipients. They were also presented with a commemorative memento bearing the silhouette of the founder of the Scout Movement, Lord Baden-Powell, symbolising the values of leadership, service, discipline, and commitment.

'La vie est une danse'-'Life is a dance'. This beautiful French saying came alive at Manjusri Public School, Temi, as the Social Science Department organized a spectacular Inter-House Dance Competition for students in the Junior and Senior categories. The event celebrated culture, creativity, teamwork, and the joy of expressing emotions through dance.

The competition was judged by Dr. Susmita Chettri and Ms. Jhimli Bhattacharjee, whose expert observations and encouraging words inspired the young performers.

The Junior Category mesmerized the audience with the theme “International Dance,” featuring vibrant performances that celebrated diverse cultures from around the world. The Senior Category showcased the elegance and grace of Semi-Classical Dance, reflecting India’s rich cultural heritage through expressive movements and captivating storytelling.

Centaur House (Blue) emerged as the overall champion, winning first place in both the Junior and Senior categories with their exceptional performances.

The Best Dancer awards were presented to:
Junior Category: Kesang Lhamu Bhutia (Centaur House)
Senior Category: Shristika Chettri (Centaur House)

The programme was graced by the esteemed presence of the Director Sir and Ma’am, the Principal, teachers, parents, and the coordinators, whose encouragement and support made the event even more memorable.
