As part of the 65th Edition Pre-Subroto Cup International Football Tournament 2026, the U-17 Boys team of Govt. Sr. Sec. School, Melli Gumpa participated in the District Level Inter School Football Tournament held at Bhaichung Stadium, Namchi.

Match Details and Results:-
The school team played with great spirit and sportsmanship throughout the tournament.

Quarter Final - 12.07.2026 :
Melli Gumpa SSS vs Kamrang Secondary School
Result: Melli Gumpa SSS won by 4 - 2
Semi Final - 13.07.2026:
Melli Gumpa SSS vs PM SHRI NSSS
Result: Melli Gumpa SSS lost to PM SHRI NSSS
Despite a strong effort, the team was unable to secure a win in the semi-final match and was eliminated from the tournament.
To conclude, the School's participation in the tournament provided valuable exposure and experience to the students. The team’s victory against Kamrang Secondary School was a proud moment for the school.

With a joyful heart we, the MGSSS Family are sharing that it is a matter of immense pride and honour that from 27th to 30th June 2026, our students Mr. Pendup Dorjee Tamang (Class X) and Mr. Ayush Rai (Class XI) were selected to represent the State of Sikkim at the National School Connect Program – YES PE (Young Engagement in Sports & Physical Education) Five-Day Experiential Learning Program, organized by the Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education (LNIPE), Gwalior, under the aegis of the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India.
The students were ably es**rted by our dedicated PET, Ms. Pratima Mukhia, the school is ever grateful for her valuable contribution during the programme.
This achievement marks a significant milestone in the journey of Melli Gumpa Senior Secondary School, showing the talent, dedication, and potential of our students on a national platform. We are confident that the exposure, learning, and experiences gained through this prestigious programme will inspire them to strive for even greater heights.

Melli Gumpa Senior Secondary School organised and concluded the Bharatiya Bhasha Summer Camp (BBSC)-2026 in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) under Circular No. Acad-30/2026.
The camp was conducted with the objective of promoting multilingualism, fostering cultural understanding, and encouraging students to learn and appreciate an additional Indian language through joyful and experiential activities.

The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and teachers.

Students learned basic greetings, expressions, alphabets, and numbers in different Indian languages through flashcards, audio visual aids and interactive sessions. The camp also celebrated India's rich cultural heritage through music, learning different regional languages and traditional language-based games like antakshari added excitement and promoted collaborative learning.
The camp culminated in a closing programme where students showcased their learning through performances and presentations before teachers and peers.
The Management, Principal, teachers, students of Melli Gumpa Senior Secondary School expressed their satisfaction and pride in the successful completion of the Bharatiya Bhasha Summer Camp 2026.
