Essence International School Celebrates the 80th Independence Day

Nagpur, 15 August 2026: Essence International School celebrated the 80th Independence Day , with great patriotic fervour, enthusiasm, and national pride.

The celebration was graced by Hon. Director Mr. Vijay Menon, who hoisted the National Flag and addressed the gathering, highlighting the sacrifices of our freedom fighters and the responsibility of every citizen towards the nation’s progress.

The programme was honoured by the presence of Hon. Director Dr. Hema Menon, Respected Principal Mrs. Beena Menon, Esteemed Quality Coordinator Smt. Jayshri Sastri, and Manager Mr. Hitesh Wagh.

The students presented a vibrant cultural programme comprising patriotic songs, dances, drills, and yoga performances, reflecting the values of unity, discipline, freedom, and patriotism. Their spirited performances were warmly applauded by the gathering.

The celebration concluded with the National Song, leaving everyone with a renewed sense of pride and commitment towards the unity, integrity, and progress of the nation.

A special assembly was conducted to commemorate National Librarian’s Day, marking the 134th birth anniversary of Padma Shri Prof. S. R. Ranganathan, the Father of Library Science in India. The programme highlighted his invaluable contribution to the development of libraries and the promotion of reading culture.

The assembly also celebrated National Youth Day, inspiring students to embrace the ideals of Swami Vivekananda and encouraging them to become responsible, confident, and purposeful citizens. The programme was an enriching blend of knowledge, inspiration, and reflection.

Oxford Big Read Competition

Essence International School proudly celebrates the success of its students at the Oxford Big Read Competition. Master Kartik Tandulkar and Miss Mudtika Shivhare emerged as the School-Level Winners, while Master Yash Nema also secured recognition, winning a medal and certificate. Their achievement reflects their enthusiasm for reading, confidence, and dedication to learning. We congratulate the students on their commendable performance.

Inter-School Yogasana Championship 2026

The 8th Inter-School Yogasana Championship 2026, organised by the Kick Stars Association, Nagpur, witnessed the enthusiastic participation of around 1,200 students from various schools. Our students delivered an impressive performance and brought laurels to the school by securing 9 Gold, 17 Silver, and 26 Bronze Medals, along with a Participation Trophy.

This remarkable achievement reflects the students’ dedication, discipline, and commitment to excellence. The team performed under the able guidance of Sports HOD Mr. Sadashiv Boldhan and Yoga Teachers Mrs. Nisha Tarare and Mrs. Supriya Hiratkar, whose constant support and guidance played a vital role in their success.

Career Navigation and Planning Workshop

Essence International School organised an insightful Career Navigation and Planning Workshop for students of Classes IX to XI, conducted by Mr. Mukul Chimote, Director of Astute Career Counselling Academy, Nagpur, Senior Faculty at Art of Living, and a Soft Skills Trainer.

The session broadened students’ perspectives on career choices, highlighting that there are 13,000+ career opportunities beyond conventional professions. Students were encouraged to explore their interests, strengths, and aspirations to make informed and purposeful career decisions.

Essence International School takes immense pride in the outstanding achievement of our Grade XII student, Ojjasi Adya, who won the prestigious Bar of Honour while representing the school as the Petitioning Advocate at ADALAT, an inter-school competition organised by DPS Lava Branch. Ojjasi earned this distinguished recognition for her exceptional advocacy in the Transgender Rights Amendment Case.

In recognition of this remarkable accomplishment, the trophy was ceremoniously presented once again at the school by our respected Principal, Mrs. Beena Menon. The entire Essence family congratulates Ojjasi on this well-deserved honour and wishes her continued success in all her future endeavours.
