🇮🇳 Independence Day Celebration – 2026 🇮🇳
Dharampeth M. P. Deo Memorial Science College, Nagpur celebrated Independence Day 2026 with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit on the college ground.
The National Song – Vande Mataram was presented at the beginning, followed by Flag Hoisting at the hands of Prof. (Dr.) Pitambar T. Humane, Principal (Off.) and the National Anthem. As per the guidelines of the Government of Maharashtra, the programme further included Maharashtra Geet and the oaths for “Nasha Mukt Bharat” and “Plastic Mukt Bharat.” The celebration concluded with the inspiring song “Balsagar Bharat Hovo.”

The programme was graced by Dr. Vilas Deshpande, Chairman, CDC, and Shri Ratnakar Kekatpure, Former CDC Chairman and Vice-President, DES, along with Prof. (Dr.) Nitin Gaikwad, IQAC Coordinator, Mrs. Shobha Zalke, Vice-Principal (Jr. College), and Ms. Shubhangi Khobragade, Convener on the dais.

More than 250 teaching and non-teaching staff members and students participated in the celebration, making the occasion a memorable expression of patriotism, unity and national pride.

In line with the guidance of Hon'ble Shri Chandrakant Patil, Minister of Higher and Technical Education, Government of Maharashtra, to promote regular interaction with students under the National Education Policy (NEP-2020), Dr. Akhilesh V. Peshwe, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, interacted with more than 100 first-year students of Dharampeth M. P. Deo Memorial Science College, Nagpur on 12th August, 2026, from 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at Late Shri Vinayakrao Phatak Hall.
Prof. (Dr.) Pitambar T. Humane, Principal (Off.), welcomed and introduced the Pro-Vice-Chancellor to the students. The programme was attended by Capt. (Dr.) Prashant Ambekar, Vice-Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Varsha Rangari, NAAC Coordinator, Prof. (Dr.) Nitin Gaikwad, IQAC Coordinator, and the teaching staff of the Senior College. Induction Program "DEEKASHAARAMBH 2026-27 "

The fifth day of the Induction Program was conducted on 11th August 2026. Three informative guest lectures were organized for the students on different topics.

Session I: The first session was on “Vyasanmukta Vikasit Bharat” and was delivered by Shri Atulji Moghe, MCVC Department, Dharampeth M. P. Deo Memorial Science College. The session highlighted the importance of staying away from addictions and contributing towards a developed and healthy India.

Session II: The second session focused on “Opportunities in the IT Sector.” Mr. Prassna Chitale, Founder of LearnITTech, was the guest speaker. He introduced students to various opportunities in the IT field and explained the use of the LabOps LMS portal.

Session III: The third session was on “Competitive Examinations”, delivered by Dr. Suresh M. Jadhav. He guided students about competitive examinations, preparation strategies, and the importance of consistent efforts.

Overall, the sessions were informative and motivating, providing students with valuable guidance for their personal development, career planning, and future opportunities.

Induction Program "DEEKASHAARAMBH 2026-27 "

An educational visit to the Raman Science Centre, Nagpur was organized on 12th August 2026 with the participation of more than 45 students. The visit provided students with an enjoyable and informative opportunity to explore various aspects of science through interactive activities and demonstrations.

During the visit, students participated in different science shows, including the Tarangan, 3D Show and the SOS Show. The main attraction of the visit was the fascinating Liquid Nitrogen Show, where students witnessed exciting scientific experiments and learned about the properties and applications of liquid nitrogen.

The students also explored and experimented with various interactive science exhibits. In addition, they enthusiastically participated in a quiz competition, where several students performed well and won prizes.

Overall, the visit was highly educational, entertaining, and inspiring. It helped students develop scientific curiosity and encouraged them to learn science through practical experiences and observation.
