(Suitable for Jain food preference)

Learn to make a perfect pizza dough which is easy to make yet as good as you get in a pizzeria.

Sharing the recipe of the very first cake I baked…after which I fell in love with baking…

PINEAPPLE UPSIDE-DOWN CAKE
Ingredients: (Serves 8)
Plain Flour - 150gms
Baking powder – 1 1/4 tsp
Baking soda – 3/4 tsp
Butter, soft – 75 gms
Condensed milk – 200 gms
Sugar – 2 tbsp
Water – 120 ml
Pineapple essence – 1/2 tsp
Pineapple slice – 1 tin
Brown Sugar – 50 gms
Method:
1. Preheat oven to 170*C.
2. Grease an 8” round cake tin. Sprinkle brown sugar on base of tin evenly. Drain pineapple slices. Place one slice in center, arrange remaining slices around it. Keep aside.
3. In a bowl, sieve together maida, baking powder & soda. In another bowl take butter and condensed milk, beat till fluffy. Now add sugar and pineapple essence, beat well. Fold in ½ of the water and flour, mix lightly till smooth. Add the remaining water and flour, lightly beat till smooth & fluffy.
4. Pour batter over arranged pineapple slices. Bake for 30-35 min till done. Remove from oven. Immediately with the help of a knife, loosen the sides of the cake. Invert a plate over cake tin and invert cake onto plate (keeping plate and pan firmly pressed together).
Note:
Do not cool the cake in tin as the caramel at the bottom will set up & you won’t be able to demoulde the cake.
For serving, Cut in wedges & serve with vanilla ice-cream.
