Dear entrepreneurs you are invited to be a part of coming meeting.

22/12/2020

22nd December we celebrate as "National Mathematics Day".

Just like to share one amazing maths theory known as Taxi Cab Number.

Mr. Hardy quipped that he came in a taxi with the number '1729' which seemed a fairly ordinary number. Ramanujan said that it was not. 1729, the Hardy-Ramanujan Number, is the smallest number which can be expressed as the sum of two different cubes in two different ways.

DAY 7: VEDIC MATHEMATICS

MULTIPLICATION: (THE FIRST BY FIRST AND THE LAST BY LAST- SUB SUTRA 3)

In last class we have seen multiplication 42 x 48 in which last digits add up to 10 and first digit are same. Now today we will see multiplication of the type 27 x 87 in which last digit is same and first digit add up to 10.

Ex: 27 x 87
The conditions are satisfied here as 2+ 8 =10
both the number end in 7
So, we multiply the first digit of each number together and add the last digit in it: 2 x 8 = 16
16 + 7 = 23 this is the first part of the answer
Multiply the last digit: 7 x 7 = 49 this is the last part of the answer.
So, 27 x 87 = 2349

Ex: 69 x 49 = (6 x4) + 9 / 9 x 9
= 24 + 9 / 81
= 3381
Ex: 21 x 81 = (2 x 8) + 1/ 1 x 1
= 16 + 1 / 1 ( on RHS we get single digit so pad up zero)
= 1701
Verify answer by beejank.

HOME WORK:

6) 24 X 84 7) 88 X 28 8) 29 X 89 9) 97 X 17 10) 64 X 44

DAY 6: VEDIC MATHEMATICS

Multiplication by EKADHIKENA

MEANING: By one more than the previous

This special type of multiplication is for multiplying numbers whose first digits are same and whose last digits add up to 10
Ex: 52 x 58, here last digit i.e. is 5 is same and first digit adds up to 10 ( 2+ 8 = 10)
• 52 x 58 =
Multiply 5 by the number one more: 5 x 6 = 30
Then simply multiply the last digit together: 2 x 8 = 16
So, 52 x 58 = 3016 here 30 = 5 x 6; 16 = 2 x 8
Verify answer by beejank.
• 63 x 67 = 6 x 7 / 3 x 7 = 4221
• 39 x 31 = 3 x 4 / 9 x 1 = 12 / 9, here in R.H.S column we are getting single digit number so we just pad up zero in front of 9 i.e. 09, so final answer is
= 12 / 09 = 1209

HOME WORK:

1)73 X 77 2) 58 X 52 3) 21 X 29 4) 82 X 88
5) 31 X 39 6) 34 X 36 7) 93 X 97 8) 27 X 23
9) 13 X 17 10) 42 X 48

VEDIC MATHEMATICS

DAY 5: MULTLIPLICATION BY 9’s

The Vedic formula by one less than the one before (EKANYUNENA PURVENA) will use here along with NIKHILAM.

Ex:763 x 999 =
• Number of digits of both multiplicand (763) and multiplier (999) are same.
• Applicable only when multiplier have series of nine.
Steps: The number being multiplied by 9`s is first reduce by 1: 763 – 1 = 762. This is the first part of the answer.
Then All from nine and last from ten is applied to 763 to get 237, which is second part of the answer.
763 x 999= 762237

Ex: 1867 x 9999 = 18668033
1867-1 = 1866/ 8033

Ex: 2347 x 99999

Here, as 2347 has 4 figure and 99999 has 5 figures, we suppose 2347 to be 02347.

This is reduced by 1 to give 2346 for the first part of the answer. Then applying Nikhilam Sutra to get 97653. so, 2347 x 99999 = 234697653

• This method is not applicable when number of digit of multiplicand is more than multiplier. For eg. 365 x 99

• Note: In this case beejank must be zero. Because in beejank we consider 9 as zero and anything multiplied by zero is zero. so just check the beejank of answer, it should be nine or zero.
