Happy to share this exciting update! 🎉

The Wadhwani Electronics Lab (WEL), Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Bombay, is collaborating with the Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering Department of our institute to upgrade and strengthen laboratory learning across seven labs:

Communication Systems Lab
Analog Circuits Lab
Electronic Devices Lab
Digital Systems Lab
Microprocessor Lab
IoT Lab
Electronics Design Lab

As part of this collaboration, WEL, IIT Bombay will provide laboratory experiments, faculty training, and the required hardware, including specially designed boards worth approximately ₹1.30 lakh.

As the first step, Research Assistants from IIT Bombay will visit our college in December to train faculty members. We have already received the first set of experiment handouts for two laboratories.

This collaboration is a valuable opportunity to strengthen our laboratory infrastructure and provide students with more hands-on, practical and industry-relevant learning experiences.

Internal Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2026 Successfully Conducted! 🚀

The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Cell successfully organised the Internal Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2026 on 9th September 2026.

A total of 216 students across 36 teams participated in the hackathon, presenting innovative ideas and solutions.

We were honoured to have Mr. Abhay Deshpande and Mr. Ambarish Pusdakar evaluate the presentations, guide the participants and motivate them for their future journey.

Following the evaluation, 162 students from 27 teams were declared eligible and will be nominated for the National-Level Smart India Hackathon 2026.

The internal evaluation was carried out by Dr. Amit Thakre, Dr. Kanchan Wagh, Dr. Girish Korde and Mr. Vikrant Katekar. The evaluation committee meeting was coordinated by Mr. Nilesh Nagrale and Mr. Vikram Dandekar.

Mrs. Sayali Halde managed the preparation and distribution of certificates, while 16 student volunteers contributed actively to the smooth coordination of the programme.

The entire event was conducted under the valuable guidance of our Hon’ble Principal.

Congratulations to all the participants and selected teams, and best wishes for the National-Level SIH 2026! 👏✨

FPSI Student Chapter Inaugurated! 🎉

The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Cummins College of Engineering for Women, Hingna, Nagpur, is proud to announce the successful inauguration of the Fluid Power Society of India (FPSI) Student Chapter at the institute.

We were honoured to welcome our Chief Guest, Shri Hemanth Kumar, National President, FPSI, along with Shri Jeetendra Nayak, Chairman, FPSI Nagpur Chapter; Shri S. C. Vishwakarma; Shri Milind Gadre; and Dr. Sanjay Ingole, Vice Chairmen, FPSI Nagpur Chapter.

We sincerely thank our Hon’ble Principal for the constant motivation and inspiration, and Prof. Prasanna Mahankar, Dean – Academic Affairs, for his valuable efforts in making this initiative possible. Special thanks to Prof. Shailesh Khekale, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, for his guidance and support.

We also extend our appreciation to Prof. Albela Pundkar and Prof. Rahul Lekurwale for their dedicated efforts in making the event a grand success.

The FPSI Student Chapter marks the beginning of a new journey towards excellence, innovation and professional collaboration in Fluid Power Engineering, creating opportunities for students through technical events, industry interaction and hands-on learning.
