The Department of Civil Engineering (NBA Accredited) of Tulsiramji Gaikwad-Patil College of Engineering & Technology, Nagpur has successfully organized an Expert Lecture on "Structural Analysis and Seismic Response of Structures" for B.Tech 4th, 6th and 8th Semester Civil Engineering students.

✨ The Expert Lecture focused on the following key points:

1️⃣ Fundamentals of Structural Analysis and types of structural systems.
2️⃣ Types of loads acting on structures – Dead load, Live load, Wind load and Seismic load.
3️⃣ Introduction to seismic forces and earthquake effects on buildings.
4️⃣ Structural behavior under earthquake loading – stiffness, ductility and damping.
5️⃣ Basic concepts of seismic analysis methods (Equivalent Static Method and Response Spectrum Method).
6️⃣ Earthquake-resistant design concepts – shear walls, bracing systems and structural configuration.
7️⃣ Practical case discussions on structural failures during earthquakes and preventive measures.

🏗️ Department of Civil Engineering of Tulsiramji Gaikwad-Patil College of Engineering and Technology, Nagpur, successfully organized a Site Visit at “Under Construction Agro Complex Building Site, Jayprakash Nagar, Nagpur” on 12th February 2026.
👨‍🎓👩‍🎓 A total of 53 students from 6th & 8th Semester Civil Engineering took advantage of this informative and practical visit.
👷‍♂️ Project Manager Mr. Maroti Bhoyar and the technical staff of the Agro Complex Project provided an in-depth overview of the site and demonstrated various stages of building construction including:
🏗️ Foundation work
🧱 Column and slab casting
🔩 Reinforcement detailing
🦺 Safety practices
They also explained structural planning, construction management techniques, and quality control measures adopted at the site.
📘 The visit provided practical exposure to structural engineering, construction technology, and project management concepts, enhancing students’ real-time understanding of construction processes and site coordination.
