J.P. Morgan: The Man Who Helped Save America From Financial Collapse Three Times

There was a time when America was not the economic superpower it is today. And during that era, one banker became so powerful that even the U.S. government turned to him during times of financial crisis.

His name was J.P. Morgan.

In 1893, America was hit by a severe financial crisis. The nation’s gold reserves were rapidly declining, and the government was on the brink of financial disaster. Morgan brought major bankers together and helped arrange around $65 million in gold bonds, playing a crucial role in stabilising the economy.

But the story didn’t end there.

In 1907, America faced another major banking crisis. Banks were collapsing and the stock market was plunging. Once again, J.P. Morgan brought Wall Street’s leading financiers together and helped mobilise private capital to contain the crisis.

But Morgan wasn’t just a banker who stepped in during emergencies. He built enormous influence across the railroad and industrial sectors, and his aggressive method of restructuring and consolidating companies became known as “Morganization.”

In 1901, he helped create U.S. Steel by acquiring Andrew Carnegie’s steel business and merging it with several other companies. It became the first billion-dollar corporation in history.

His influence grew so vast that many considered him one of the most powerful private individuals in America.

J.P. Morgan died on March 31, 1913, but his impact on American finance continues to this day.

His story isn’t simply about a wealthy banker. It shows how money, connections and financial power can give one individual extraordinary influence over an entire economic system.

One historic photograph captures three remarkable figures in India’s space journey — Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, Professor Satish Dhawan, and Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.

Under Indira Gandhi’s leadership, India’s space programme entered a new era of growth and ambition.

Professor Satish Dhawan played a crucial role in strengthening ISRO, while Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam emerged as one of India’s leading scientists.

Despite limited resources, India’s scientists continued to dream big — laying the foundations for a self-reliant space programme.

That journey would eventually take India to the Moon, Mars, and beyond.

This isn’t just a photograph of three great minds — it’s a glimpse into the chapter that helped shape India’s rise as a space power.

From ₹295 to a Billion-Dollar Empire: Britannia’s Incredible Journey

Did you know one of India’s most iconic biscuit brands started with just ₹295?

Back in 1892, in Kolkata, a group of British businessmen started Britannia on a very small scale, making biscuits by hand.

The company began modernising rapidly. By 1910, Britannia had started using electric machinery, dramatically increasing production.

But the biggest turning point came in the 1990s, when a major corporate battle erupted between Raj an Pillai and Nusli Wadia over control of the company.

Eventually, Nusli Wadia’s Wadia Group emerged victorious and took control of Britannia.

Today, Britannia is far more than a biscuit company. Brands like Good Day, Marie Gold, Tiger, Bourbon and NutriChoice are sold across India and in more than 60 countries worldwide.

A company that reportedly began with just ₹295 has grown into a business with a market value of over ₹1 lakh crore.

From a tiny beginning in colonial-era Kolkata to a global food giant — Britannia’s journey is a remarkable story of business and transformation.

Once known as China’s “Property King,” Hui Ka Yan has gone from one of Asia’s richest men to a life behind bars.

In 1996, he founded Evergrande and rapidly expanded the company using massive amounts of debt. At its peak, Evergrande became one of China’s biggest property developers, making Hui one of Asia’s wealthiest billionaires.

But the huge debt burden eventually brought the empire crashing down. In 2021, Evergrande defaulted after failing to repay its debts.

The company also faced allegations that money raised from homebuyers was diverted into new projects and land purchases, leaving many developments unfinished.

Hui later admitted to charges including embezzlement and corporate bribery.

A Chinese court sentenced him to life in prison and ordered his personal assets to be confiscated.

From building a multi-billion-dollar empire to losing it all—Hui Ka Yan’s story is a dramatic example of how debt can bring down even the biggest business empire.

A Lost Continent May Be Hiding Beneath the Indian Ocean!

Scientists have found evidence of an ancient piece of continental crust buried beneath the Indian Ocean near Mauritius.

Known as Mauritia, this lost fragment may have once been connected to India and Madagascar before the ancient supercontinent Gondwana broke apart.

Researchers discovered tiny zircon crystals in Mauritius that are around 2.5 to 3 billion years old—far older than the volcanic rocks surrounding them.

But there’s a twist: this is not evidence of Lemuria or an ancient human civilisation.

Instead, Mauritia is a fascinating geological remnant of Earth’s deep past—showing how continents broke apart and reshaped our planet over millions of years.

In just 7 days, 187 earthquakes of magnitude 4.5 or higher were recorded around the world. Is the Earth's most active seismic zone becoming even more restless?

Script:
Stretching around the Pacific Ocean, the Ring of Fire is one of the most earthquake- and volcano-prone regions on Earth.

Over the past week, 187 earthquakes measuring 4.5 or higher were recorded worldwide.

The strongest was a magnitude 7.7 earthquake near Indonesia. A 6.9-magnitude quake also struck northern Indonesia, while a 6.7-magnitude earthquake hit southern Peru.

Japan, Alaska, and the western United States also experienced multiple earthquakes.

But there's an important detail: those 187 earthquakes were recorded worldwide—not just along the Ring of Fire.

So, this number alone should not be interpreted as a warning that a major earthquake is about to happen.

Scientists still cannot predict exactly when, where, or how powerful the next earthquake will be.

The real question isn't whether 187 earthquakes are unusual—but what is happening beneath the Earth's shifting tectonic plates?

Kapil Dev Speaks Out in Support of Imran Khan

Indian cricket legend and former captain Kapil Dev has spoken out in support of Pakistan’s former Prime Minister and cricket captain Imran Khan, who remains in prison.

Kapil said he was not commenting on Pakistan’s laws or Imran Khan’s legal cases. However, on humanitarian grounds, he believes Imran should receive proper medical care and adequate facilities in prison.

Kapil Dev and Imran Khan were among the greatest all-rounders of their era. Alongside them, New Zealand’s Richard Hadlee and England’s Ian Botham were also regarded as two of the world’s leading all-rounders.

Kapil described Imran as an old friend and someone he shared the cricket field with. He also said current Pakistani cricketers should not be blamed for staying silent, as they still have to live and work in Pakistan.

Kapil’s message was clear: he is not interfering in Imran Khan’s legal matters—he is simply asking for humane treatment, proper medical care and basic facilities.
