St Joseph Matriculation Hr sec school was established in 1981 as primary english medium school,by Roman Catholic Diocese of Kottar, a Religious minority.The bishop at the diocese is the manager of the school and he appoints the vice general of the diocese as its correspondent and another priest as the co correspondent.
