What if there was a library between life and death that contained every version of your life?

A place where you could undo your regrets, make different choices, and see how your life would have turned out. A chance to live the life you think is perfect.

Would you take it?

The Midnight Library by Matt Haig explores this fascinating idea through Nora, a woman who has lost hope and decides to end her life. But instead of dying, she finds herself in a mysterious library between life and death.

Inside this library, every book contains a different version of her life—one where she made a different choice. Nora gets the chance to step into these lives and discover what could have been.

But what is a perfect life? Can life ever be perfect? Or are we simply too focused on the lives we didn't live?

This book is much more than fiction. It is a story about regrets, choices, second chances, and learning to appreciate the life you already have.

What I liked:

• STORY: The concept is unique and the plot keeps you engaged from beginning to end. I was constantly curious to see which life Nora would choose next.

• CHARACTERS: Nora, Mrs. Elm, Joe, and the other characters are well-written. Their emotions feel genuine, making it easy to connect with them.

• LESSONS OF LIFE: This book offers some powerful insights about happiness, regrets, and the choices we make. It leaves you with a lot to think about long after you've finished reading.

One of the few books that I would recommend to almost everyone. A beautiful fictional story that also delivers meaningful life lessons.

Doglapan is the story of a man who built two unicorns in India and became an internet sensation for his straightforward opinions: Ashneer Grover. The founder of BharatPe and judge of Shark Tank India, this is his memoir.

The book starts with a thrilling story that the whole country was waiting to witness. A conspiracy is taking place on the board of BharatPe to remove Ashneer Grover—the man who built it.

Ashneer takes you through the major incidents of his life: how he met his wife, how he got into IIT, and later why he went to study at IIM.

He writes about the successes and failures he faced at every stage of his life, and I think there are many things to learn from both. He also shares his side of the controversies he faced in the media.

Overall, this book contains a lot of lessons because Ashneer focuses as much on his failures as on his successes.

What I liked:

• Ashneer highlights mistakes that pulled him down and clearly tells readers what not to do.

• The writing style is fast-paced. He tells the important stories of his life in a very engaging way.

• A man who faced challenges and failures but never gave up, ultimately building two successful unicorns in India.

What I didn't like:

• The book contains a lot of finance and business-related terminology. Readers unfamiliar with these terms may find some parts difficult to understand.

• It contradicts many things Ashneer has said in interviews and on TV. So I'm not sure whether everything written here is factual or an attempt to whitewash his image.

Rating: 3/5

I recommend this book if you're willing to focus on the positives and learn from them. Otherwise, you can skip it. But it definitely contains real-life stories of failure and success from which we can learn a lot.

Their books are slow pace and storytelling goldmines
I especially love Haruki murakami books
