Department of English, Mahapurusha Srimanta Sankaradeva Vishwavidyalaya, Nagaon successfully conducted the first volume of CONSILIUM ,an inter-collegiate literary Quiz competition on 9/12/2021 in the University auditorium.

A total number of 18 teams from Delhi University ,Dibrugarh University ,Gauhati University ,Gauhati Medical College ,JDSG College ,Bokakhat ,Cotton University ,Tezpur University ,Nowgong College ,Nowgong Girls’ College ,ADP College ,Nagaon,Juriya College ,Maryam Ajmal Womens’ College of Science and Technology ,Hojai ,Arya Vidyapeeth College participated in the competition.

After the preliminary round ,five teams got qualified for the final completion. The final round comprised of rounds on Assamese Literature, Sankaradeva and his works ,Indian Literature ,World Literature and an audio-visual round on issues related to the current trends of literature .

Sayan Mazumdar and Bishwayan Bhattacharya from Gauhati Medical College won the first position while Anuj Sankar Debnath and Himangshu Nath from ADP College Nagaon and Pratyashi Priya and Barnil Medhi from Delhi University won the second and third positions respectively.

Faculty members from different colleges of Assam, university officials and students from different departments of the university attended the competition.The prize money consisted of Rs 10000, Rs 7000 and Rs 5000 respectively .The honourable registrar of MSSV, Dr.Mrinal Kumar Borah distributed the prizes among the winners and the participating certificates among the participating teams .Dr.Jayanta M.Tamuly and Prasanta Mahanta played the role of Quiz Master for Consilium.

Students of Social Work Department, MSSV performed a street play on the occasion of International Day of Persons with Disability, 2021 in Rupnagar Vidyapith High School and Madhab Das High School. Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, Dr. Hitesh Deka and Assistant Registrar, Bichitra Bikash were also present in the event.

The department of English, MSSV, Nagaon had the privilege to record two cultural programs for All India Radio, Nagaon.

One of the programme consisted of poems, songs and articles by the students of the department while the other was a drama "Riniki Riniki". It was a drama on the tragic ferry incident of Nimati Ghat.

On behalf of our University, Hon'ble Pradhan Sampadak Sjt. Babul Bora, Registrar Dr. Mrinal Kr. Borah and Managing Trustee Sjt. Khagendra Mahela visited the Deputy Commissioner's Office of Nagaon to give a warm welcome to the newly appointed Deputy Commissioner Nisarg Hivare, IAS.

Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor's interaction with intellectuals and representatives of various Institutions. The programme aims to contribute to innovation, perspectives on higher education issues and upcoming challenges of the University. Exchange of thoughts and experiences through this exercises was very fruitful. Hon'ble MLA of Nagaon Sadar, Sjt. Rupak Sarma was also present in the event along with other dignitaries of the University.

Celebration of 4th at Guwahati Campus, MSSV. The event was organised by Department of Yogic Science and Naturopathy, MSSV. Faculty and Student representatives from all departments participated in the program. Importance of five elements for our health was discussed by Dr. Donirung Reang and Mrs. Varsha Maske. Respected Assistant Registrar, Bichitra Bikash shared few words of motivation with everyone present in the celebration.
