The Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of Gauhati University, Prof. Nani Gopal Mahanta, visited to Kaliabor College today, engaging with the institution’s administration, faculty members, and students in a highly inspiring academic gathering.
The event of the visit commenced at the Mahabahu Conference Hall, opening with a beautiful rendition of the Kaliabor College Theme Song, performed jointly by the faculty members and students. Following this musical prelude, a formal felicitation programme took place to honor the distinguished guest. Dr. Uttam Kumar Baruah, Principal of Kaliabor College, then delivered a warm welcome address, expressing immense gratitude for the Vice Chancellor's presence and highlighting the college's ongoing academic milestones.
Prof. Mahanta, in his speech, he underscored the transformative power and deep significance of higher education in shaping the future of the society. He spoke extensively on the core vision of the National Education Policy (NEP-2020), emphasizing its focus on multidisciplinary learning, skill acquisition, and holistic student development. Notably, the VC highly appreciated and commended Kaliabor College for its proactive initiatives and dedicated efforts toward effectively implementing the vision of NEP-2020 on its campus.
The entire programme was smoothly anchored by Ms. Sukanya Hazarika, Assistant Professor in the Department of English. The august gathering saw vibrant participation, the Hon’ble President of the Governing Body of the college, Dr. Siba Ranjan Mahanta, and the Vice Principal of the college, Mrs. Anjali Chutia, college faculty, office staff, and a large number enthusiastic students. The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks offered by the anchor, marking a memorable milestone in the college’s academic journey.
