নগঞা সাংবাদিক বুলি ক'লে সততে মনলৈ অহা সাংবাদিক সকলৰ ভিতৰত এটা জনপ্ৰিয় নাম আছিল শিৱ প্ৰসাদ বৰা । সাংবাদিকতাৰ লগতে এগৰাকী লিখক, সমালোচক হিচাপেও তেখেতৰ এটি সুকীয়া চিনাকি আছিল । এগৰাকী নিষ্ঠাবান সাংবাদিক হিচাপে "অসমীয়া প্ৰতিদিন", "দৈনিক অগ্ৰদূত"ৰ দৰে অসমৰ আগশাৰীৰ সংবাদ গোষ্ঠীৰ সৈতে জড়িত শিৱ প্ৰসাদ বৰাই পৰৱৰ্তী সময়ত জি আই টি নগাঁৱৰ সমন্বয়ক হিচাপেও সেৱা আগবঢ়াইছিল । তেখেতৰ এই অকাল বিয়োগত সমগ্ৰ জিলাবাসীৰ লগতে আমি জি আই টি পৰিয়ালো মৰ্মাহত হৈছো ।
