Anandaram Dhekial Phookan College Extends Relief to Flood Victims in South Assam. The NSS Unit and NCC Unit of Anandaram Dhekial Phookan College, in collaboration with Jagiroad College, organized a flood relief distribution programme to support the flood-affected people of South Assam. The initiative reflected the institutions' commitment to social responsibility and humanitarian service during times of crisis.

A team comprising NSS volunteers, NCC cadets, faculty members, and student representatives collected and distributed essential relief materials, including rice, pulses, cooking oil, biscuits, drinking water, clothes, sanitary items, and other daily necessities. The relief materials were handed over to flood-affected families in the worst-hit areas to help them cope with the hardships caused by the devastating floods.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from the volunteers, who worked tirelessly to ensure the smooth distribution of relief supplies. The collaborative effort between Anandaram Dhekial Phookan College and Jagiroad College demonstrated the spirit of unity, compassion, and community service.

On 26/06/2026, the NSS Unit of ADP College observed the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking to spread awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of a healthy, drug-free society.

The programme began with an awareness meeting in the college. The respected Principal, Dr. Sadananda Payeng, the IQAC Coordinator, Chittaranjan Nath, and the NSS Programme Officer, Nipon Das, delivered informative speeches on the harmful effects of drug abuse, its impact on individuals and society, and the importance of maintaining a healthy and drug-free environment. They encouraged students to make responsible choices and contribute to building a better society.

After the meeting, NSS volunteers, NCC cadets participated in an awareness rally around the nearby areas of the college. The rally aimed to spread awareness among the public about the dangers of drug abuse and illicit trafficking. The programme concluded successfully with active participation from everyone and helped promote the message of a healthier and drug-free community.

Senitization Workshop

On 17.06.26, A Senitization Workshop regarding citizen services on the Sewa Setu Portal under the ARTPS Act was organised by AITEC & CSD Society, IT Department, Government of Assam in association with NSS Unit, Nowgong Girls' College. The workshop trained NSS volunteers from multiple colleges, including ADP college, B.K.B college, Nonoi College, Nowgong Girls' College, Nowgong University, Khagarijan College and Rupahi College. The event was highly honored by the esteemed presence of our respected chief guests and dignitaries: Shri Hemanta Rabha Sir and Shri Lakshi Nandan Goswami Sir.

Sewa Setu officials instructed participating volunteers to master the Sewa Setu portal's 913 online services, which are legally backed by the Assam Right to Public Services Act. The volunteers were tasked with educating community members on how to use the Sewa Setu app so they can access digital governance and apply for certificate directly from their homes, how to track their live applications and verify their official acknowledgement receipts online. We are told to teach the public about the exect government fees, ensuring they know that essential documents - like a Caste Certificate can be delivered directly to their home address for just ₹40 and learned that the Sewa Setu app completely removes the need for citizens to physically visit government offices.

NSS volunteers of ADP college actively participated in the workshop with great interest. The workshop allowed them to clarify their doubts regarding the portal's services and field applications steps.
The workshop concluded successfully, inspiring and motivating volunteers to consider community service and digital empowerment as a promising and honorable way to Support Society.

we attended the online World No To***co Day Programme organized by the NSS Cell, Gauhati University. The programme aimed to create awareness about the harmful effects of to***co consumption and to encourage a to***co-free lifestyle. The session was informative and highlighted the importance of maintaining good health by avoiding to***co and spreading awareness in society.

A Defense Career Guidance Seminar was organized by ADP College in collaboration with Abhigyan Academy, Guwahati, to create awareness among students about career opportunities in the Indian Army and other defense sectors. The programme aimed to guide students towards disciplined and prestigious career paths in the service of the nation.

The seminar was conducted by Swapnaneel Sharma Mazumdar, who served as the resource person for the session. He provided detailed information about UPSC and various defense examinations, including eligibility criteria, exam schedule, and selection procedures. He explained the paper pattern, highlighting subjects such as General Knowledge, reasoning, and other important areas. He also spoke about career opportunities in the Armed Forces, including the Army, Navy, and Air Force, and guided students on how to prepare for these fields. In addition, he shared useful preparation strategies, study tips, and emphasized the importance of discipline, consistency, and physical fitness.

NSS volunteers, NCC, and Students of the college actively participated in the seminar with great interest. The interactive session allowed them to ask questions and clarify their doubts regarding exams and career options. The programme concluded successfully, inspiring and motivating students to consider defense services as a promising and honorable career choice.

A vote awareness campaign was organized to educatepeople about the importance of voting in a democratic country. The program aimed to encourage citizens to participate actively in elections and make informed decisions.
Students of ADP College, along with NSS volunteers, actively participated in the program.
The program received a positive response from the students. Many students showed interest and pledged to vote responsibly.
