EUREKA 4.0 – A Working Project Competition was successfully organized by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering of Dharmsinh Desai University on 20th February 2026. The event aimed to provide a vibrant platform for students to present innovative ideas through functional prototypes and practical implementations. As the fourth edition of the EUREKA series, the competition continued its tradition of promoting creativity, technical excellence, and experiential learning. Faculty coordinators, Dr. Narendra Chauhan, Dr. Dipak Rabari, Dr. Mitesh Limachia, Dr. Himanshu Patel(IC), Dr. Ashish Pandya and Dr. Sagar Kavaiya have ensured smooth ex*****on of the entire event under the guidance of HoD-EC, Dr. Purvang Dalal and Dean-FoT Dr. Vipul Shah.
The primary objectives of EUREKA 4.0 include (a) To encourage students to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world problems (b) To promote innovation, research, and design thinking (c) To enhance technical, professional, and entrepreneurial skills (4) To foster teamwork and interdisciplinary learning (5) To motivate students to develop solutions aligned with societal needs
EUREKA 4.0 received an overwhelming response, with around 141 teams participating in the competition. The participation included:
• 120 teams from Engineering Colleges
• 21 school teams from various schools
This diverse participation (from various colleges across state and schools from Nadiad region, reflected the growing reputation of EUREKA as a national-level platform for young innovators.
The inaugural function of the event was scheduled at 10.30 am on 20-02-2026, and graced by Dr. Nilesh Desai, Director, Space Applications Centre, Ahmedabad, who served as the Chief Guest and inspired participants with his valuable insights on innovation and technology. The presence of an eminent scientist as Chief Guest further strengthened the academic–industry–research linkage and motivated students toward excellence in engineering and innovation.
EVENT HIGHLIGHTS
Participants showcased working models and prototypes in areas such as electronics, communication systems, IoT, embedded systems, automation, renewable energy, healthcare technology, and smart infrastructure.
Major highlights of the event included:

• Evaluation by expert academicians and industry professionals
• Interactive technical discussions
• Knowledge-sharing sessions
• Awards and recognition for outstanding projects
Prior to the grand finale, the department organized structured training and mentoring sessions. Faculty members and senior students guided participants in project planning, design, implementation, and presentation skills. These initiatives ensured high-quality project outcomes and professional presentation standards.
EUREKA 4.0 played a significant role in nurturing a culture of innovation, research, and practical learning. The competition enhanced students’ confidence, technical competence, and problem-solving abilities. It also provided exposure to real-world engineering challenges and encouraged participants to pursue research and entrepreneurial paths.
