WE ARE GOING TO CHOP OFF THE HEADS OF THESE VAISNAVAS!

Mother Jahnava, after she left and was going to Vrindavan, she went into one town where all the people were Kali worshippers, Chandi. And they saw that devotees were being respected. They became very envious “Why are they bowing down to Jahnava, why they are bowing down to these Vaishnavas, these villagers? They are rascals, why are they not bowing down to Chandi, Mother Maya? They are not making any goat offering or drinking any wine.

They are all offensive.” So they went to Chandi and said, “We are going to chop off the heads of these Vaishnavas, they are so offensive to you, they don’t offer you any goat or wine or anything and they are offensive. We are going to finish them off tonight. Chop off their heads. We will wake up in the middle of the night and do this work for your pleasure.”

Of course, Chandi Maya is the greatest devotee. She tolerates these demons. But when they want to offend the Vaishnavas she cannot tolerate. So she appeared in their dreams as soon as they went to sleep. Her eyes were flaming red and her hair was scattered and she was accompanied by her she-demons. She had her huge chopper in her hand and she told them, “I’m going to chop off your heads! You don’t know who is Jahnava. She is my worshippable Deity.

She is the Antaranga-shakti. These are all Vaishnavas. They are pure devotees of Krishna, my eternal master. You are going to chop their heads off? If you do not beg them for forgiveness for your offence, I’m going to chop off your heads.” They woke up shaking, ‘Aaaaaahhh! Aaaaahhhh!” They were very afraid of Chandi. They ran to the Vaishnavas and fell down at their feet, “Please, please, we did not know who you are. Please forgive us. Mother Chandi has told us, now we know who you are. Please, please instruct us what is devotion, who you are, what we are to do?

We have committed so many offences.” So of course Jahnava being an ocean of mercy, blessed them with ecstatic love for Nitai-Gauranga. And they became devotees. They stayed there for a few days. Jahnava and other devotees were going to Vrindavan. They turned the whole village into pure devotees, there were demons there before. They turned them into pure devotees.

Of course when Jahnava went to Vrindavan, then all the Vaishnavas in Mathura, first they met her and then took her to Vrindavan. Then Jiva Gosvami and all the Vaishnavas came out and she was introduced to Krishnadas Kaviraja, Gopal Bhatta Gosvami, Jiva Gosvami, Lokanath Gosvami, Bhugarbha Gosvami, and so on.

She was introduced to all the Vaishnavas and Raghunath Das and Sanatan in Radha K***a. Then she was wandering around and she saw Balaram’s Rasa-lila. She fell unconscious. She went to Radha-K***a and offered her respects. She was offered respects by Raghunath Das Gosvami and others who were filled with separation and were worshipping in Radha K***a. Then finally she was ordered by Gopinatha to get a proper Radharani murti for Him. There was a proper size and everything. And so then she went back to Gaudadesh to get a Radharani Deity for Gopinatha in Vrindavana.

Like this even the demons are delivered by mercy. Maya doesn’t want people to stay always. That’s why she kicks them. She is like the cool hand to remind us that we should just take shelter of Krishna. So even Maha-maya Chandi had her demon devotees take shelter of the devotees of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. So we should take shelter. We should not allow our mind, which has got that aroma of sense gratification.

Question: Personally as a mataji, I always keep thinking not to genderize this but generally prabhus get to do everything and matajis, we are like – can you give us some motivation and I also wonder how to serve my guru and Krsna? Could you please give some advice.

HH Jayapataka Swami: So that should be addressed. At least we want to provide alternatives to everybody to serve Krsna. And like Lord Caitanya said, yare dekho tare koho Krsna upadesa. That is not limited to males! It is anyone! And whoever you meet tell them about chanting Hare Krsna, tell them about the message of Lord Krsna! Some of our Malaysian girls are distributing lots of books, right?! But I don’t know, the males have more service opportunities than the females? But we should look into that, do you have any suggestions for the different services you can do? Then we can consider that. I am a sannyasi, so I cannot take any physical service from the ladies, but otherwise every service is allowed.

Question: Since you were talking about Bhajan Clubbing, so let us see we started Bhajan Clubbing in Malaysia – once a month we are doing. So other three weeks we have nothing except doing kirtana in the temple. So what if all the youth are engaged in Bhajan Clubbing and do not go for Harinama outside, do not read books? How do we face this Maharaja?

HH Jayapataka Swami: I mean, right now a very limited number of youth engaged in Harinama. But through this Bhajan Clubbing you can get more youths to help. Now, why once a month? Why not every week in different places? I mean, that is up to you. So, when I was in Visakhapatnam and Chennai, I was amazed to see how the youths were chanting and dancing for three or four hours! Śrīla Prabhupāda would be so happy! This is what we want! By this process we can connect people were closer and more people will go on Harinama. I don’t say that you just do Bhajan Clubbing and nothing else. I am just saying this is a new way to involve many new people! There may be other ideas I don’t know. But this is just an idea that came up.

I heard some businessman pays a group three or four lakhs and arranges these events, in the auditorium, gets like 20 or 30 thousand people to attend. He wants to make money! So I am saying we can do it just for preaching! When people are chanting and dancing they feel happy! That doesn’t mean that we just do Bhajan Clubbing and we don’t do any devotional service. We take inspiration from Lord Caitanya! This is an outreach program specially meant for the youth! Most of the people who come are 18 to 30. We don’t restrict anyone from coming, but mainly young people come. What they call this generation Gen Z.

I hope that you don’t just do once a month Bhajan Clubbing, and after put mustard oil in your nose and sleep! I was told that if I presented then maybe the youth will take it up! The leaders were saying the youth will not listen to us! So I am just taking this opportunity to state!

You know, I joined the movement, when I came my parents wanted me to become a Christian priest. My father said, I will send you to the Vietnam War and you will die there! So I asked Śrīla Prabhupāda, what should I do? My father wants to send me to the American Army. Śrīla Prabhupāda said, better be in Krsna’s army! Now, I am in Krsna’s army! And I am very happy! You of course, maybe your parents are devotees, I don’t know. They maybe kind of siksa guru for you. Every parent, every guru, they need to deliver their children, their disciples from birth and death. Half of my disciples are ladies and half are men. I have to deliver all of them! So, I am thinking all day, all night. This is a very big responsibility!

I send fortnightly daily messages on the Jayapataka Swami App. I received last year, 20,777emails. 99% I replied! But don’t think that you are bothering me by sending an email! That is my responsibility. Apart from that, whoever is your siksa guru, if you get instructions from them that is also good. But if you do not get an answer from your siksa guru or if you still have some doubts, then write to me.

Don’t think that I will be bothered if you write to me. If you fall into Maya, then I become disturbed. I am very grateful to all the devotees who are assisting me to fulfill the desires of Śrīla Prabhupāda and taking forward the movement of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu, thank you for your support! All the services you are offering to the temple, namahatta, bhakti vriksa, Gita course, I consider that you are directly serving and assisting me!

There are some details how the gṛhasthas, how much they should give, whom they should give, for what they should give – so all these are being considered by the CDM – Congregational Development Ministry. In short, temple service, service to guru, service to namahatta, service to Śrīla Prabhupāda, service to spiritual master, this is the right path you are following.

IF THEY CONTRIBUTE SOMETHING, THE GRHASTA DEVOTEES' WORK BECOMES PURIFIED!

How many of you are gṛhasthas? Many! So, the brahmacaris, vanaprasthas, sannyasis, they are basically maintained by the asrama. Maybe the vanaprasthas, some of them are maintained by their families. But gṛhasthas are financially independent. Now, you have to be clear with Krsna, just as Śrīla Prabhupāda said to take initiation you have to chant 16 rounds, how much the gṛhastha should dedicate his service to Krsna has to be also assigned. Those who are having jobs, in Kali-yuga many people have a job. Like even, professors, doctors, lawyers, politicians, everybody has a salary. So by varnasrama system, they are all sudras. But with our Krsna conscious daiva-varnasrama, we don’t see all that. We want everybody to be a Vaisnava according to Lord Caitanya.

But say one is getting a lakh of rupees as his salary every month. My proposal is that everyone should give at least 11% to Krsna. So they can decide how they will spend their money. Monthly or every three months or six months or yearly, they can contribute. But if they contribute something, the gṛhastha devotees’ work becomes purified.

Now Srila Rupa and Sanatana Gosvami were previously the prime minister and finance minister of the government. And in various scriptures it is mentioned that people were lining up to take their donations. But when everything was properly processed, they gave 50% to Krsna’s service, 25% was given to family members and 25% they kept for any emergency purpose. Now the business people, farmers, businessmen, they are different, they don’t receive a salary. So, we see like Kolaveca Sridhara, he was a farmer and sold banana products. Now, this type of business is not very profitable in Bengal because everyone has banana trees! He gave 50% of his profit to Krsna. And this way, he was very poor. But, Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu used to go to him every day! Haribol! Gauuuuranga!

Therefore, at least you give 11% and if you can give 50% that is very good! Anyway, that you can deliberate. You have a relationship – it is between you and Krsna. There is another proposal – those devotees who work in ISKCON get a minimum maintenance. This way they will also consider according to their situation.

IF EVERY DISCIPLE WILL MAKE A NEW DEVOTEE, THAT WILL HELP ME GREATLY!

Srila AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada had told me that you should expand the preaching UNLIMITEDLY, UNLIMITEDLY! And all my disciples have promised me they will help me. So, I feel that if every disciple will make a new devotee, that will help me greatly. So what is your commitment? You don’t have to be my disciple, in one year how many people will you get to start chanting the Hare Krsna maha-mantra? Every month, how many? Make a commitment – I will get one person, ten people, hundred people to start chanting the Hare Krsna maha-mantra. How many people will start to practice devotional service and do their sadhanas completely? So like this, devotees should make a commitment how many people they will introduce. Kali-yuga people are quarrelsome, lazy, unfortunate – so many difficulties! Kali-yuga is an ocean of faults! The only hope is the Harinama! ONLY HOPE!

Kalau nastyaiva, nastyaiva, nastyaiva gatir anyatha

Translation: Harinama, Harinama, Harinama – in this age of Kali the chanting of the holy names of the Lord, chanting of the holy names of the Lord, chanting of the holy names of the Lord, is the only way, there is no other way, no other way, no other way.

People are suffering. Please help them!

KEEP THINKING HOW YOU CAN INCREASE YOUR DEVOTION & DEVOTIONAL SERVICES!

Every day I read from the scriptures. I found a verse which says that if we should chant 108 times at trisandhya, and we can go back to Godhead. So those are not second initiated yet can chant the Hare Krsna maha-mantra 108 times during the trisandhya. That means, morning, noon and evening:

Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare / Hare Rama,Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare!

108 times.

About 6 to 7 minutes or less time it takes to chant this. So, chanting Gayatri also takes about the same amount of time. So this is one instruction, everyone should chant 108 times the Hare Krsna maha-mantra at the trisandhyas. Now, the devotees who take initiation promise to chant 16 rounds, you could include this in your 16 rounds. Of course, it is minimum 16 rounds, if you want to chant more, there is no problem! Now, all the time keep thinking how you can increase your devotion and devotional services.

I AM THINKING EVERY DAY HOW MY DISCIPLES CAN BE DELIVERED!

Today is a very special day. I am very grateful that all the devotees have gathered together. Yesterday I said that how the spiritual master has the responsibility to take his disciples back home back to Godhead. I can do that, but you have to follow me. So I am thinking every day how my disciples can be delivered! So, I send out messages regularly my Jayapataka Swami App and other things. So this way, I reach out to my disciples and well-wishers throughout the world. I want all my disciples as far as possible, to take the second initiation. But they have to be qualified.

WE CANNOT CHEAT KRSNA!

HH Jayapataka Swami: So here in this verse 7 of the Siksastaka, Lord Caitanya is establishing the mood of serving Krsna in separation. How that should be easy for us because we are separated, there is no doubt about it. We are separated, we are far away from Krsna, at the same time He is in our heart, He sees everything we do, we cannot cheat him, we cannot like there is a saying drinking water under water on a fast day.

What does that mean? Someone on a fast day goes to the sacred river Ganges and he takes a dip and we cannot see what he is doing, if he drinks water, then he is cheating the people. But he cannot cheat Krsna, He sees what you are doing! So drinking under water on a fast day! Now, I was thinking Krsna is so wonderful that He can have a personal relationship with every devotee! We cannot imagine, there are unlimited, millions, trillions, zillions of devotees! But Lord Caitanya, Lord Krsna, He can have a personal relationship with everyone!
