Delhi Public School, Mysore had organised an inter house debate competition for the students of Grade IX - XII on 7th July 2023. The aim of organizing the debate competition was to hone the public speaking skills of the students and teach them to be articulate while expressing their thoughts and opinions.
To begin with the competition was between the students of Ganga house and Cauvery house debating on the topic "Social media has negative effect on mental health". Team Cauvery won the prelims moving to the finals. Team Narmada and Godavari debated on the topic " A strong dictatorship is better than a weak democracy" with Team Godavari proceeding to the final round. The topic for the final round was "Is climate change primarily caused by human activity?" As a result of better presentation and stronger arguments Team Cauvery emerged as the winners of the competition. The event was a kaleidoscope of opinions, thoughts and perspective that enhanced the knowledge and understanding about the different topics.

An industrial visit was planned for the students of Grade VI and VII from Delhi Public School, Mysore. The students were eager to visit the popular Karnataka Silk Industries Corporation Ltd (KSIC), the Silk Weaving Factory situated in Mysore, that was established
in 1912 by the Maharaja of Mysore Province which was manufacturing and suppling silk fabrics to meet the requirements of the royal family. The students were able to witness the entire process of weaving, right from the stage of cocoon to warping. They were amazed to see the real-time process of theory put into practise, which gave them much more clarity in the concept. They were also introduced to the process of dyeing, where they were exposed to the colour dyeing and drying process. The students got a first hand understanding of how the really exclusive and expensive Mysore silk sarees are made.

A University Fair was organised at Delhi Public School - Mysore, on 14th July 2023 in collaboration with IC 3, by the Career and Guidance cell of the school. Highly acclaimed National and International Universities of repute, participated in the said event.
In all, delegates of 15 Universities, mainly from India, United Staes, United Kingdom, Italy and Australia took part in the Fair. The aim of organising the Fair was to equip the students with information regarding the various courses offered at different Universities, their academic curriculum, fees structure and visa processes.
Students and parents from grade 9, 10, 11 and 12 whole heartedly participated and interacted with the delegates and enquired about all the different options available to them, to enable them to make informed decisions for their wards in the near future.
The Fair proved to be an excellent opportunity for the students to get information about traditional and new age career options and the courses being offered at universities worldwide.

Every year at DPSM, we celebrate the French National day- Bastille Day with a lot of enthusiasm and a variety of activities. This year too, was no different. Distinct activities were organized grade-wise.The department of French had also organised a special assembly to mark Bastille Day.
These activities give an insight into the holistic framework of the DPSM pedagogy. The framework emphasizes the non-academic part of the curriculum at DPSM which helps shape the students' worldview and gives them knowledge suitable for the 21st century.
The students worked enthusiastically and produced quality work making the event successful.

Our student Namrata R. has received the official invitation to participate in the World Youth Mixed Martial Arts Championship 2023 at Abudhabi.
The DPSM family is proud of her efforts and achievements and wishes her all the best for her future endeavors.
