A stargazing programme was organised at Kaliyuva Mane on Tuesday from 6.00 pm to 9.00 pm, providing students with an enriching experience of the night sky. The event was hosted by Mr. Vasant Hegde, Founder of AGAS360 (Akasha Ganga Astronomers Society 360)
The programme began with a brief introductory session, during which Mr. Hegde explained the basics of astronomy, the night sky, and the use of telescopes in a simple and engaging manner. Students then observed several celestial objects through a telescope, including the Moon and its craters, Saturn with its rings and moon Titan, and Jupiter with three of its moons and visible cloud bands.
Mr. Hegde also guided students in identifying constellations and stars with the naked eye, such as Orion, Pleiades, Auriga, and Aldebaran. The students thoroughly enjoyed the programme, which sparked curiosity and enthusiasm for astronomy.
