Vainika Shikhamani Veene Seshanna (1852-1926)

Sri Krishna Jayanthi Utsava
Veene Seshanna who initiated Sri Krishna jayanthi music festival in Mysore and for the first time it was under the auspices of Ganabharathi. This is also an opportunity to honour senior stalwarts in recognition of their life long contribution to the performing arts. PUBLICATIONS
Another feature of Ganabharathi is its publications. The vastness of carnatic music is due to composers like Sri Thyagaraja, Sri Purandhara Dasaru, Sri Swathi Thirunal, Sri Kanaka Dasa, Sri Annamacharya and others. A compilation of some selected compositions of the above composers have been published namely Kallu Sakkare and Kanaka Samputa. Books related to music literature, Haridasa Vangmaya and Dasa Sahitya Sudhe also have been published. Well known publisher in Mysore Sri D V K Murthy took the responsibility for the sale of these publications. A generous grant from the TTD has made this a possibility. All efforts are being made to establish a full fledged music library related to music literature which has already been initiated. Ganabharathi has already released four Souvenirs with the obvious idea to raise funds for its activities. The Department of Kannada and Culture and the Government of India have been supporting the organization in various capacities.
